Jeremy Clarkson looks set to be cancelled by ITV as well as Amazon Prime after his comments regarding Meghan Markle.

In an article published last month, Clarkson wrote that he had dreamed of Meghan being paraded through British towns and publicly shamed, adding that “everyone who’s my age thinks the same way”.

He said: “I hate her. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level.

"At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, 'Shame!' and throw lumps of excrement at her.”

The Sun opinion piece attracted criticism from high-profile figures, politicians, and his own daughter, Emily Clarkson.

It also received the largest amount of Ipso complaints in history.

He later apologised and yesterday issued another lengthy apology in which he said: “I really am sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles in my head. This is me putting my hands up.”

Responding, a spokesman for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said: “While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his long-standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny.

“Unless each of his other pieces were also written ‘in a hurry’, as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate.”

Now, both Amazon and ITV look like they may be preparing to cut ties with the 62-year-old TV presenter.

On Monday evening, just hours after the apology was issued, a press conference due to take place on Tuesday to promote Clarkson’s Farm was pulled.

It was also reported by Variety that Clarkson's Farm and The Grand Tour would be pulled at the end of their next seasons.

Free Speech Union's Toby Young said that Meghan Markle looks "far from vulnerable".

Commenting on Clarkson’s apparent cancellation, Toby Young from the Free Speech Union told GB News’ Laurence Fox: "Meghan likes to portray herself as a bit of a victim, a bit put upon, a bit vulnerable…

“But, you know, it's beginning to look as though far from being this vulnerable, fragile woman who is easily hurt by hurty words, if you cross her, you get into an awful lot of trouble.”

He continued: “Clarkson now, in all sorts of trouble. You can imagine Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes picking out Megan in the audience, taking the mickey and the next day, finding he's lost all his gigs, including all his Netflix specials.

“She's all powerful. If you cross her now, she's like the queen of Hearts, you know, off with his head!”
