The stars future on continuing the tour has been thrown into doubt after his second 'sexual scandal'

Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans could be set to be axed from the ongoing Strictly Tour by BBC Bosses after it circulated he made a crude and inappropriate comment towards Jeanette Manrara.

The opera singer is currently under fire and being supported by his Strictly co-stars after he joked about having a threesome with professional dancer Manrara during a full-cast photocall.

A source told The Sun: "He's had repeated warnings about his behaviour and told to reign it in. He's not been taking it in, in this day and age the BBC have to be seen taking action and safeguarding everyone.

"He's had a tough time with the death of his brother and people should give him some slack, he is going to take this time off to do some self-reflection.

"He has a lot of support from a lot of the backstage dancers. It's been a really sad ending to what has been a really fun tour."

The Sun has claimed that BBC bosses will be releasing a statement later today.

When the reports of his behaviour came to light, Evans was quick to acknowledge what he said was wrong and issued a stern apology to Manrara.

He said: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise."

A spokesperson for Manrara claimed she hadn't heard the comment, but his apology hasn't seemed to have saved his space on the tour, with bosses now allegedly having him removed.

A tour insider previously said: “As soon as they were alerted to the remarks, tour producers called a meeting with Wynne.

“He was very apologetic and fully agreed that what he said was inappropriate and unacceptable.

“He was given a warning and told in no uncertain terms that that kind of language is not tolerated."

Despite his mistake, it seems his fellow Strictly star have continued to share their support for Evans, including partner Katya Jones who continues to post on her Instagram alongside the star.

Tasha Ghouri shared a picture of them enjoying a night out with Evans, while Kai Widdrington also posted a snap with his arm around the singer along with a love heart emoji.

Last night the likes of Amy Dowden, Lauren Oakley and Manrara's husband Aljaz Skorjanec attended Evans' birthday meal in Liverpool.

Whilst the star continues on the tour for the moment, he has announced he has stepped away from his BBC Radio Wales show and has been replaced by comic Robin Windsor.

Dr Charlotte Proudman, founder of the Right to Equality, criticised the decision to welcome Evans back to the tour.

"Welcoming Wynne Evans back into the workplace alongside the woman he objectified suggests that sexualised comments about women carry no real consequences, leaving women feeling unsafe and unprotected," she told the Mail.

She added that the situation raises "serious questions" about the BBC, suggesting "a toxic culture where women are expected to endure sexist humiliating behaviour, rather than being supported and safeguarded."
