Whoopi Goldberg, 69, has been accused of "admitting" that her US panel show, The View, is a "propaganda wing for the Democrat Party" following recent comments on the show.
On Tuesday's episode, Goldberg clashed with ESPN pundit Stephen A Smith when the discussion turned to President Donald Trump's historic victory against Kamala Harris back in November.
Goldberg, a vocal critic of President Trump, argued with Smith about the Democrat Party's messaging, arguing at one point that she and her The View co-stars were doing their bit to push such agendas.
The moment in question occurred when Smith reeled off why he felt the latest US election emphasised the Democrats' failings rather than Trump's victory.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Smith told the ABC show: "If you think about him being impeached twice, 34 felony convictions, and they still elected him president, it’s not about him winning.
"It was an indictment against the Democratic Party and what the Democratic Party was offering to American citizens.
"We might sit up there and talk about, 'Hey, you should be a party for the working class,' which the Democrats was once known for.
"They’re not known for that right now. Why? Because their message was catering towards others and other issues, and they forgot about the people that brought them there, that elevated the Democratic Party to what it was over the last few decades. That’s why they lost.
Whoopi Goldberg has been accused of "letting the mask slip" with her Democrat rant

"He didn’t win. The Democrats lost," Smith added, which prompted Goldberg to reel off the issues the Democrats said they were fighting for.
She listed: "Making sure that families had what they need. SNAP, making sure stuff is there. Making sure that the America that we all grew up in where you could come and be whoever you were supposed to be or want to be, you still have that right.
"All these things are the things that the Democrats have always said."
But Smith interjected: "Before you brought that up, you brought up the message that the Democratic Party was disseminating.
"I’m challenging you on that. That is not what they were doing," he said.
In a move that critics have described as "letting the mask slip", Goldberg shot back: "Oh, yes, it was. I was here. We did it!"
The moment has since been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on social media, and caught the attention of some very big names.
Slamming Goldberg's remarks, one person hit out: "Whoopi’s self-own is pure comedy gold! Admitting ‘The View’ pushes the Democrat agenda like it’s a flex?Priceless. Trump’s been exposing this media bias game forever, and now they’re just proving him right—mainstream outlets can’t even pretend to be neutral anymore."
A second concurred: "Whoopi Goldberg came clean— admitting that The View is simply a platform to push Democrat talking points… They’re not even trying to hide anymore."
"Whoopi says the QUIET part OUT LOUD and openly admits that the View is a propaganda wing of the Democrat party. This is just too good," a third weighed in.
Elsewhere a fourth mocked: "Whoopi just self-owned and admitted that she and the other View hosts were disseminating the Democrat agenda. 'Oh yes it was! I was here! We did it!' Whoopi fell victim to the oldest psyop. Say something wrong, and let someone correct you, revealing themselves."
The criticism caught the eye of X owner Musk who reposted the clip with the sarcastic caption: "I love that trick. Works every time."

Goldberg did receive some support from The View viewers, however, with some arguing Smith's points were "nonsense".
"Please stop chatting nonsense," one viewer typed in response to a clip from the show's official X account while a second added: "Please stop giving people like this a platform." (sic)
Elsewhere in the chat, Smith, who declared he was not a Trump backer, added: "If you’re the Democratic Party and you lost 49.8 percent to 48.3 percent, and looking at that 1.5 percent difference, that’s an excuse to say, what we did really wasn’t that bad, we should continue to do that.
"No, don't continue to do it, find a new strategy," he added.
