Victoria Coren Mitchell gives birth to second child as star shares baby name after secret pregnancy

The announcement began after she shared a cryptic Halloween-themed selfie of herself in a cloak alongside the caption: "DO FOLLOW ME…" followed by a pumpkin emoji.

Following the reaction to the social media post, Coren Mitchell followed it up by revealing all on Wednesday evening.

"Many people are assuming my tweet yesterday was a Halloween costume," Coren Mitchell penned. "Not at all; last week I had a baby and nothing currently fits me except cloaks.

"Luckily, Only Connect is a pre-record. Happy All Saints Day!" she signed off with a love heart emoji.

Coren Mitchell and her husband also marked the occasion with an announcement in The Times which confirmed their newborn's name.

"Mitchell on 26th October 2023 to Victoria and David, a daughter, June Violet sister to Barbara," the announcement read in the publication.

The pair welcomed their first baby daughter daughter Barbara eight years ago, a few years after the pair married in 2012.

A number of fans and famous faces rushed to Coren Mitchell's X post to congratulate the star and send their well wishes.

Former Great British Bake Off host Sue Perkins penned on the social media site: "Congratulations! xxx."

And Countdown star Rachel Riley commented: "Mazel tov, hope you're both doing well!"

Another follower shared their admiration: "Many congratulations and deep admiration you are responding here as a new mother of a week old baby!"

A second fan quipped: "Congratulations. I had a baby 37 years ago and nothing currently fits!"

Mitchell, who's best known for starring in Peep Show and Would I Lie To You among other on-screen projects, and his wife are yet to share the first snap of their newborn.
