The boxer has been plagued with allegations that he cheated on fiancée Molly-Mae Hague during their relationship

Tommy Fury has broken his silence for the first time since his split with Molly-Mae Hague just hours after his former fiancée returned to social media and issued a statement of her own.

The couple met on the ITV reality series Love Island and went on to win the show before embarking on their five-year romance, welcoming their daughter, Bambi and getting engaged last year.

Earlier this month, the couple both took to their Instagram accounts to issue separate statements that they had called time on their relationship - leaving the Filter CEO to note she didn't expect their journey to "end this way".

Fury has stayed silent during the first statement but returned to the social media site tonight to thank those who have been supporting him over the last couple of weeks.

Posting an image of himself in a gym, tying his shoelace, the boxer penned: "These last few weeks have been heartbreaking. The false allegations about me have been horrendous.

"Thank you to everybody who has stood by me through this."

Fans of the boxer were quick to jump to the comment section, with one supportive fan noting: "No matter how it ended if the love is still there fight for her! It’s never too late Tommy, that girl loves you.

"Women like Molly don’t just happen, she was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of woman! It’s never too late to put things right. Go and get your girl back."

"Keep your head up brother & keep training," someone else penned as a third said: "Sending all the love and support your way, Tommy! Ignore the tabloids!"

Other comments urged Fury to deny the allegations which he claimed were false within the caption of his post.

In the days that followed their split, it was alleged that Fury had cheated on Hague "multiple times" throughout their relationship, pushing the businesswoman to end their relationship.

A source close to Hague came forward to The Sun and claimed that the boxer had cheated with a "Danish woman" whilst on a lads holiday.

Fury hit back at the allegations made against him and denied ever being unfaithful to Hauge, with a spokesperson telling The Daily Mirror: "Tommy is horrified by the false allegations of cheating being circulated by the media and he’s consulting his lawyers."

The 25-year-old's statements comes just 24 hours after Hague herself posted on Instagram for the first time, also thanking her fans for their continued support.

She posted an image of herself in a white and grey two-piece, leaning over a balcony, looking down at a body of water, with the caption reading: "Thank you for being the best online friends I could've ever wished for," alongside a white heart emoji.

The initial statement from Hague was posted on her Instagram story and read: "Never in a million years did I think I'd ever have to write this. After five years of being together, I never imagined our story would end, especially not in this way.

"I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end. I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority.

"I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it's right to share this with you all.

"Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time, I'll be back when it feels right. Molly-Mae x"
