Engelbert Humperdinck, 87, has addressed the ongoing spat between himself and fellow music icon Sir Tom Jones, 83, almost five decades on from their initial falling out.
The duo have long had a reported feud with one another stemming right back to the 1970s after they'd been signed to the same record label, Decca Records.
Both Jones and Humperdinck shared the same manager in the 1960s while signed to Decca and both were making waves in the charts - although Humperdinck was going by the name of Gerry Dorsey at the time.
It wasn't until the 70s that a public spat came to light, although neither party has expressed the exact moment or incident that sparked the clash of heads.
These days, Humperdinck continues to tour the globe with his music - he'll be heading to Australia, Canada, the USA and the UK this year - while Jones similarly performs and takes part in ITV series The Voice as a coach.
As such, the veteran performers still have legions of fans that follow their every move, although enthusiasts with a stake in both camps may be disheartened to learn that a reconciliation appears off the cards given Humperdinck's latest remarks.

Sparking to the Mirror this week, Humperdinck was asked for his thoughts on some of the unsavoury comments Jones has said about him in the past.
Humperdinck batted away any suggestion of caring as he warned his fellow singer: "It doesn't bother me - the only person it hurts is himself.
"If you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything."
The 87-year-old's comments come in the same week another publication reported he'd issued a cheeky swipe at Jones' performance on The Voice.

"I think he’s lost his voice," Humperdinck said, according to The Sun. "I don’t think he’s got it anymore."
Jones - who sparked concerns over his appearance during the latest series of The Voice - is yet to respond to Humperdinck's latest comments but arguably the most damning indictment on their feud came from the Welsh crooner back in 2015.
Speaking to Metro, Jones was asked if he thought a reconciliation with Humperdinck was ever on the horizon.
Jones pulled no punches when he replied: "It's as I say – once a c**t always a c**t."

Despite the bad blood, Humperdinck has previously claimed to have reached out to Jones in recent years - even though they hadn't spoke for decades.
During the pandemic, Humperdinck revealed [via Far Out]: "One good thing to come out of this pandemic is that it’s brought the world together.

"There’s more kindness everywhere. In that context, a silly grudge seems so petty somehow. And I want to say that I’m sure Tom feels that, too. I’d love it if we could finally mend that broken bridge. I certainly respect his talent."
He went on to describe Jones as "one of the greatest singers the world has known and admitted he was "devastated when I heard she’d [Jones’ wife Linda] passed [in 2016]."
Humperdinck said he "sent my condolences to Tom" but that "sadly, he didn’t respond".
