ITV's most bizarre singing contest returned last week

The Masked Singer is back on ITV and as usual, guesses from far and wide have flooded in regarding the identities of the celebs under the disguise.

During last week's premiere, it was Weather who was sent home by the panel and unmasked as Dionne Warwick - sparking "fix" claims among viewers.

This left the likes of Maypole, Cricket - who fans think they've rumbled, Bigfoot, Rat and Dippy Egg to fight on in the competition.

On Saturday, another six contestants will take to the stage including Air Fryer, Bubble Tea, Owl, Eiffel Tower, Chicken Caesar and Piranha.

But while fans usually have to wait until the likes of Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross vote to unmask a celeb, data obtained exclusively by GB News suggests Bigfoot's true moniker may already be public knowledge.

Speaking to GB News, Liam Solomon, Head of PR for BettingSites.co.uk revealed there is one man who's emerged as the frontrunner to be under Bigfoot's disguise - and he's a familiar face to Top Gear fans.

Former host of the BBC motoring show - which has since been shelved by the Beeb - Matt LeBlanc is the favourite to be unveiled as Bigfoot.

He's currently at 5/4 with bookmakers while The Last Leg presenter Alex Brooker is close behind at 7/4.

Outsiders in the market include Strictly Come Dancing winner Hamza Yassin at 5/1, actor Stephen Mangan at 12/1, and presenter Ben Fogle at 14/1.

Delving into the data and the odds for several Masked Singer competitors, Solomon explained to GB News: "Keen-eyed viewers have been putting their sleuthing abilities to the test trying to work out who is behind the mask of each contestant on this year's edition.

"Melody Thornton of Pussycat Dolls fame is the favourite to be unveiled as ‘Maypole’, but many fans believe the absence of Rita Ora (second favourite) in the opening episode point to her, in what would be quite a twist.

"Our oddsmakers can’t split Emmerdale star Tony Audenshaw (who plays Bob Hope) and Inside No9’s Reece Shearsmith for the Dippy Egg. A Northerner is a clear favourite for this masked character!

"Blue star Simon Webbe is a hot favourite to be named as ‘Cricket’. The vocal comparison is uncanny!

"‘Rat’ came across with a strong Scouse accent. Was that a red herring? Our compilers do not think so, as Scousers dominate our betting market with red hot favourite being Corrie star Claire Sweeney, with musicians Sonia and former Spice Girl Mel C as viable alternatives.

"And finally for 'BigFoot', the online chatter is all around former Friends star and Top Gear presenter, Matt LeBlanc and star of the tv show The Last Leg, Alex Brooker.

"They are the front two in the betting accordingly."

LeBlanc co-hosted Top Gear from 2016 to 2019 following the departures of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.

He shot to global stardom thanks to the role of Joey Tribbiani in the award-winning sitcom Friends in the 1990s.
