The former Strictly legend left the BBC show a year before Giovanni Pernice joined the show

Strictly star James Jordan has given his verdict on the ongoing legal battle between Giovanni Pernice and Amanda Abbington and claimed that there is "no smoke without fire".

It was revealed yesterday that Pernice would not be returning to the cast of the BBC dance show as he was left off the official roster.

His absence comes as Abbington claimed she suffered PTSD during her training with the 33-year-old, and later requested to see the video footage of their time together.

Pernice has consistently denied the claims made against him, especially after three more of his former partners allegedly came forward and backed Abbington's claims.

Today, Jordan discussed the ongoing events alongside his wife Ola Jordan and noted: "For him to have four people come forward, there’s clearly something there…"

He noted: "It's a shame it has come to this. The only thing I will say is there is no smoke without fire and I have always protected the professional dancers and we don't know the ins and outs of it.

"Isn't the proof in the pudding a little bit? He is not back on the show so clearly, whether he has decided not to go back or whether the BBC have not asked him back there is something going on and we have not seen the footage.

"I honestly believe that if you went and asked all of them, they would say they had a great time," he told This Morning.

ITV presenter Ben Shephard interjected Jordan's comments and reminded him: "We need to be clear James they are allegations that he’s vehemently denied.

The Tipping Point star went on to read out Pernice's statement which he posted on his Instagram, before Jordan's wife added: "Hopefully that will happen."

Jordan questioned: “Have four people come forward with these allegations? It’s not just one person right, it’s four people?" before Shephard clarified it's what's been reported.

“Okay, so I can only go on what’s been reported,” the 46-year-old continued. “Like I said, I’m not bad-mouthing Giovanni and none of us clearly know enough about it.

"We’ve been asked to come on here and discuss it, I can only discuss what I’ve read in the papers, the same as you. Which is, that four people have come forward with these allegations."

Concluding his opinion on the events, Jordan said: "I’d be devastated if one of my previous celebrity partners came forward, saying I was abusive or not treating them nice in training.

"But he’s had four if it was just one… you’d say: ‘Okay, maybe a massive clash of characters!"

Despite his axing from the BBC dance competition, it seems Pernice is full steam ahead and moving on from the saga as he gears up with co-star Anton Du Beke for their Together tour.
