Helen Skelton returned to Springtime on the Farm last night but left some of the Channel 5 viewers annoyed with one major change to the format.
Skelton was joined by Jules Hudson and they were back filming at Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Viewers got to see some lambing, a segment on cows and a vet discussing wild tigers – but they quickly realised that the show was not live.
The realisation came when Skelton followed the story of a donkey who had lost its foal during a stillbirth, leaving many to comment on their X account.
One commented: “Hate the fact that #SpringtimeOnTheFarm is not live – it just does not have the same feel.”
“I love you @HelenSkelton and @channel5_tv but it’s just not the same,” another added before a third quipped: “#SpringtimeOnTheFarm Live ain’t live… links are all prerecorded. It doesn’t have the right vibe if it's not live.”
Fans were annoyed that the show was no longer live
Another noted: “Can someone tell me why #SpringtimeOnTheFarm is not the same… I miss the jeopardy feeling of the life show like Winter.”
“Not sure if I like the series without it being live! I know it's sad to see some of the animals hurt or ill but that is what the show is all about,” a fifth said.
Tonight, Skelton and Hudson kept a close eye on Bambi, a pregnant miniature donkey who was due to give birth any day.
A jockey spoke about finding solace in farming, following an accident on the racecourse and JB Gill headed into the woods with his son Ace to spend some quality time together in nature.
Helen was rejoined by Jules for the series
The official On The Farm X account shared the story of the Little Pickle the pygmy goat and said: “Tonight we meet a very special pygmy goat!
“Little Pickle has had a tough start in life but thanks to the efforts at Cannon Hall Farm she is showing great signs of improvement! Tune in at 8pm on Channel 5 to hear her story #SpringtimeOnTheFarm.”
Skelton recently opened up about a mistake she made when allowing her children to name their Labrador puppy.
The 40-year-old has two dogs, the older of which is a crossbreed called Barney, who famously joined her on Blue Peter in 2009.

Helen Skelton's show was slammed by viewers
Barney’s younger adopted brother is, courtesy of Skelton’s children, named after Spider-Man and something that Skelton admitted was a “foolish” move.
“My dogs hate being on leads - Spider-Man especially, Barney's not too bothered but you've got to do it for those lambs.
“I have two children who I foolishly let name our dog - live and learn!” she told ITV’s Lorraine Kelly.
