Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell was left stunned when magician Alexandra Burgio taped his mouth shut during her audition.
The accomplished performer entered the stage with her own mouth already taped, silencing Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, before making her way to the judges' panel.
Within seconds of her appearance, she silenced the outspoken music mogul by placing tape across his mouth – leaving them matching.
The bold move sent the audience and fellow judges into fits of laughter as Cowell shook his head, unable to speak.
Burgio proceeded with her act by getting audience members to select seemingly random numbers and colours from a whiteboard.
The trick culminated when she pulled out a predicted card from her own taped mouth, leaving Alesha Dixon to shout: “Go on girl!”

Despite being silenced, Cowell couldn't help but laugh at the unexpected turn his evening had taken.
Burgio celebrated her successful trick by dancing joyfully on stage, much to the audience's delight – before wowing further and unveiling Cowell’s chosen word to be on the back of his mouth tape.
Fans were left blown away by Burgio’s act, as one penned on X: “Just amazing! I will always be in awe of magicians and how they put on such a show!”

Someone else added: “Well done to her for finally silencing Simon Cowell! Even if it was just for a few minutes.”
A third said: “This woman is genius! Gagging Simon Cowell and putting on such a great show! Amazing woman!”
However, others weren’t convinced by her trick, as one noted: “She already had the 'fierce' card on her person after Simon chose his 'random' one.
“Look closely when she walks in front of the board and you'll see her very sneaky switch.”
Another expressed: “Do we need more magicians? Seems like this show is just full of the same things now and nothing is unique.” (sic)
The magician previously appeared on Canada's Got Talent just last year, in 2024.
