The Strictly Come Dancing head judge's son has welcomed his first child
Shirley Ballas, 63, has become a grandma for the first time after her son Mark announced the arrival of his newborn baby boy.
Her son, 37, who is also a professional ballroom dancer and was a competitor on the USA's answer to Strictly, Dancing with the Stars, is married to singer-songwriter BC Jean.
Mark announced his other half had given birth in an adorable Instagram snap late on Tuesday evening.
In the first snap of the newborn, both Mark and BC can be seen holding the hand of their baby boy.
And as if the first photo wasn't enough to spark joy among his followers, Mark revealed his son's unique name in the accompanying caption
The pro dancer wrote alongside the snap: "Welcome to Earth my son," followed by a star emoji.
"Banksi Wylde Ballas 11 / 5 / 23," Mark added, prompting floods of supportive and congratulatory messages from friends, family and followers.
Among the well-wishers was Strictly Come Dancing professional Luba Mushtuk who penned: "Congratulations," followed by a series of love heart emojis.
Shirley's fellow judge Motsi Mabuse also commented: "Congratulations mom & dad. Wishing you all the best !!! @shirleyballas congratulations Shirley."
Former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips also weighed in: "You are blessed. All the joys and happiness on earth."
While his former Dancing with the Stars competitor - and eventual winner - Charli D'Amelio also showed her love: "CONGRATULATIONS!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH!!!!"
"Congratulations!!!! Welcome baby Banksi," Kimberly Wyatt added while singer Christina Milian echoed: "Congratulations guys!!! Omg I’m so happy for you both." (sic)
The arrival of their newborn baby boy comes just one month after the husband and wife duo released a song about the pregnancy loss they endured last year.

The pair recorded the track Rainbow following their pregnancy loss in 2022 as they candidly opened up on their heartbreak and shared the single on Instagram alongside a heartfelt post which read: "We lost a baby last year.
"Just when we thought we were in a good place to tell friends + family we received the heavy news that our little one wasn’t going to make it, we’ve both been through hard things in our lives but this was a different kind of sadness.
"This song is for anyone that has experienced loss in any form, We hope it brings whoever listens some kind of peace & reminds you that a rainbow isn’t far behind." (sic)
The new parents have been dating since 2012 and tied the knot in November 2016.
