Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway viewers were left having to mute their TV and switching off after watching the “excruciating” segment “week after week”.
One segment which has been a staple for the show over the last couple of years is Ring My Bell which sees a number of audience members given the chance to win £500, if their doorbell footage appears on screen.
Two locations are shown on the screen each time, with the person who lives in the house having to shout to declare it’s their home, then a neighbour must then run to the doorbell holding an item chosen by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
The first to reach the doorbell wins £500 for themselves, as well as £500 for the owner of the home, with three rounds filling the segment.
However, many homeowners who are simply watching the show are left with carnage in their households as their dogs continue to bark at the sound of the doorbells.
During the game last night, viewers took to their X account to complain about the game with one commenting: “Does anyone else’s dog go off at ding dong that’s my doorbell.”

“Yep my little Frenchie goes mad,” another replied before a third added: “ I cannot express enough how every time they do Ring My Bell I need to mute the tv before they actually ring the bell as my dogs think it’s our door bell going off.”
One frustrated fan said: “You’d think that we’d have learnt by now but I have to switch off every week to stop my dog from barking like a maniac at my TV screen for an hour.”
Before the series began, McPartlin and Donnelly revealed they would not be returning next year and would be taking a break from the show.
With the final being just weeks away, details of what viewers can expect to see have been released and will see iconic girl band Girls Aloud be the star guest announcers.
