Paul Cattermole died suddenly in April 2023 following heart issues

S Club band members have rallied together to release their first single in 20 years.

Rachel Stevens, Jo O'Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Jon Lee and Tina Barrett will perform the track These Are The Days as an emotional tribute to late bandmate Paul Cattermole.

Cattermole died aged 46 in April 2023 just weeks after the band announced their return to the touring circuit to mark the band's 25th anniversary.

The band is now a five-piece as Hannah Spearritt decided to exit the group after Cattermole's death.

The single will be released this week for fans to stream or buy.

The accompanying music video will reportedly focus on the band members as they reminisce on their time with Cattermole.

A source said of the single: “It didn’t look like S Club were ever going to make music again but Paul’s tragic passing has brought them closer than ever. They have bonded in their grief.

“The single has been written by the same team who were behind the majority of their No1s.

“It is a beautiful slice of nostalgia and fans will instantly recognise it as S Club," they told The Sun.

They added: "It sounds like a classic which will slot right in with their old tunes.

“It is about looking back at what an amazing man Paul was and the video was extremely emotional for them all.

“It celebrates his life and the amazing career S Club have had.”

S Club will still tour later this year following Cattermole's death.

However, the tour has undergone a rebrand and will now be titled The Good Times Tour - a nod to a single Cattermole provided lead vocals on.

Band member O'Meara took to Twitter to announce the news of the band's new single as she shared a link to The Sun's report.

McIntosh followed suit on his Instagram page as he included a link on his Instagram Story.

At the time of his death, Cattermole's family said: "It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.

"Paul was found yesterday, April 6, 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

"While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.

"Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time."

It was soon confirmed Cattermole's death was a result of heart issues.
