Hollywood icon 'grown tired' of LA's toxic culture

Rock and roll legend Rod Stewart has revealed he will be staying in the UK for good after he has "grown sick" of the "toxic culture" in Hollywood.

Kinsey Schofield, American Showbiz reporter for GB News claimed that friends of the hitmaker said he has "grown tired of LA's toxic culture and feels like he had no privacy."

Speaking to Mark Dolan, she said: "Rod Stewart has chosen to live full time at his home in the UK to support his wife, Penny Lancaster.

"Penny loves the life she's made away from America and away from LA. Friends close to Rod say that he's grown tired of LA's toxic culture and feels like he had no privacy here."

She added that it was a further nail in the coffin when he 'relisted' his $80 (£63) million home in LA and joked it could buy you "an awful lot of marmite."

Stewart rose to fame with his raspy rock and roll voice and hit songs such as Maggie May and Your In My Heart.

He moved to Hollywood in 1975 but the 78-year-old, has listed now his nine-bedroom, 12-bath villa in Los Angeles for $80 million as he prepares the move back home.

Mark told Schofield that he will be "delighted" to have the star back in the UK and claimed there is a "bit of a brain drain" from Hollywood at the moment.

He said: "There's a bit of a brain drain from Hollywood at the moment because of Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon, I think they're moving back to the UK as well as James Corden."

The US reporter replied: "I do think it's just kind of the chaos of some of these LAX policies when it comes to crime. You know, if you run into a store today and steal something, there's a good chance that the cops are just going to let you go within the next 2-3 hours.

"What is going to keep people from behaving badly when there are no repercussions?"
