Richard Hammond has given his thoughts on the future of The Grand Tour and other driving shows ahead of the hit programme's final series concluding.
The Grand Tour fans were disappointed to learn the upcoming next episode is the penultimate instalment, with the following Zimbabwe special marking the end of the Amazon Prime Video favourite.
However, Hammond, who makes up one-third of the iconic trio starring in the motoring show, seems confident that The Grands Tour’s end won’t be the last of the genre.
When quizzed about whether Top Gear’s hiatus and The Grand Tour’s conclusion spells the end of driving shows with stunts and adventures, he replied: “I very much doubt it.
“Top Gear was on hiatus when we took it on so it’ll come back one day, although in what shape I don’t know.”
Speaking to Radio Times, he continued: “The decision to buy our next car is probably the most significant contribution we can make as individuals to the future, so we need to be informed.

“Maybe that’s the route it could take? As for shows like The Grand Tour, I don’t think the human desire for adventure is ever going to be sated. It’ll continue in different forms, modified to suit its time.”
The Grand Tour: Sand Job, will see Hammond and his co-stars James May and Jeremy Clarkson heading to Africa for their latest adventure.
The highly-anticipated episode, which will launch on Amazon Prime Video on February 16, will follow the trio as they travel to the remote country of Mauritania, where they’ll complete their gruelling journey in cars of their choice.
The three motoring experts built up a strong following with Top Gear, which they starred in from 2002 to 2015.

The Grand Tour has been a fan favourite since it hit the streaming platform in 2016, with the men recently confirming the end of the show.
Clarkson explained the series had to come to an end as there was nothing new to do with it.
“I've driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else,” he told The Times.
“We've done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air”.

The presenter went on to add that being "unfit, fat and old" was another reason for the show to cease.
Meanwhile, May explained why he believed the next episodes would be a hit with fans.
When asked if the new instalments would appeal to petrol heads, he replied: “It’s certainly a bit more car-y than some other ones.
“We sort of alternate between car-y ones and more travel/sitcom ones.”
