The Our Yorkshire Farm star confirmed his split from Sarah Dow in May

Reuben Owen has returned to social media with a new update from the Dales just weeks after announcing his split from girlfriend Sarah Dow.

The Our Yorkshire Farm star, 20, was joined by his ex in his latest solo Channel 5 show Reuben: Life in the Dales but the two went their separate ways after filming had finished.

Speaking on ITV last month, Owen broke the news to fans, saying: "Me and Sarah were together, we're no longer together but we're still very good friends.

"She's kind of gone her own way and is pursuing her own career. She does the odd day for us when she's not busy, but no, we're not together.

"We get on very well and we're still good pals," he signed off to Lorraine Kelly.

With Dow now only doing the "odd day" for Owen's contracting business, the young farmer alluded to feeling lonely in a video shared to his TikTok this week.

Owen recorded himself behind the controls of his bulldozer hard at work in a field in the Dales.

With no one else to be seen in the clip, Owen captioned the post: "Some hours spent on dozer #dozer #plant #machinery #fyp."

However, he accompanied the video with the audio track One by Harry Nilsson, a song that includes the lyrics: "One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do."

Noticing the son of Amanda and Clive Owen was hard at work on his own, one fan showed their support as they replied to the TikTok: "Nice work as always. Days with your own thoughts."

"Living the dream my man," a second added as they praised the Channel 5 star before a third weighed in: "Go on reuben lad."

The support kept coming from a fourth who weighed in: "Keep er lit lad good to see someone doing well." (sic)

Dow isn't the only one who may have "gone her own way" since Life in the Dales' first series ended last month.

In the show's finale, Owen faced the prospect of having to part company with pal and colleague Tommy McWhirter.

During the show's final few episodes, McWhirter underwent a series of HGV exams as he sought to fulfill his "dream" of being a trucker.

"If Tommy passes his test we may never see him again. That might be him, the open road awaits," Owen said to Dow ahead of McWhirter's theory tests.

McWhirter returned to reveal his exams had gone to plan, which prompted a concerned Owen to ask: "Are we going to lose you any time soon then?"

McWhirter hesitantly replied: "No, I wouldn't have thought so. I haven't even booked my (practical) test yet so it definitely won't be soon."

But Owen knew McWhirter would eventually move on to pastures new, asking his pal: "When you pass, will you do a couple of days with me, a couple of days with Neil, or...?"

"Yeah. I obviously want to drive a wagon but I'll still help you now and again," McWhirter reassured before Owen replied: "Grand job."
