Rebekah Vardy breaks silence after Coleen Rooney speaks out on 'Wagatha Christie' trial for first time

The pair were embroiled in a much-publicised 2022 court case when Vardy sued Rooney for defamation
The 'Wagatha Christie' libel case ended in favour of Coleen Rooney back in July 2022 when a judge ruled she hadn't defamed Rebekah Vardy.
The case stemmed from a social media post in 2019 in which Rooney claimed Vardy had "leaked" private stories to The Sun.
The judge in the case, Mrs Justice Steyn, branded the evidence presented by Vardy as "manifestly inconsistent with the contemporaneous documentary evidence, evasive or implausible" on "many occasions".
Rooney's initial post took the internet by storm after she claimed she'd narrowed down the leak to Rebekah Vardy's account through a series of planted posts on her private Instagram account.
Vardy faced legal costs of around £3 million as a result of the court's decision and as part of British Vogue's September issue, Rooney has addressed the ordeal for the first time.
Rooney spoke openly about the case, saying that what she "said in that post, I still stick by today", and that it was "scary" to face a legal case as she'd "never been" involved in one before.
The wife of former England striker Wayne Rooney branded the saga a "horrible experience" and admitted watching Vardy in the courtroom was "quite painful" and she felt "uneasy".

Among the evidence presented, texts between Vardy and her former agent Caroline Watt were included.
Rooney said it "knocked me sick" when she discovered the pair had discussed her late sister Rosie, who died from Rett syndrome at the age of 14 in 2013.
Rooney also touched on the strain case had on her and her husband's relationship, telling the publication: "He was supportive, you know, but it took its toll.
"He kept saying all the way throughout it 'Don't worry, you'll be fine'. But there were certain moments where we did have disagreements.
"Not over the case, but he would get annoyed with me because I was quite short-tempered. You know, I didn't have time for him. I lost my focus."
The revelation-packed interview has hit headlines across the globe since it was published on Thursday, August 17 - and just a few hours after, Vardy took to Instagram.
The wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy didn't address Rooney's comments directly but broke her social media silence with a selfie.
Seemingly not letting Rooney's comments get to her, Vardy struck a pose with the sun beaming down behind her and attached a gif of a dancing woman in a red dress in the post on her Instagram Story.
Yesterday, hours before Rooney's Vogue article went live, Vardy shared another snap to her main page.

Despite it being over a year since the court's decision, Rooney plans to discuss the fallout further in an upcoming tell-all documentary for Disney+.
She said of the upcoming series: "I felt like everyone else has spoken about it except me. And it's my story to tell."
