Penny Lancaster has shared an update about feeling "broken" just days on from a sad personal loss.
The TV personality shared earlier this month that her beloved dog Bubbles had been diagnosed with cancer. Days later, Lancaster confirmed the pooch had died.
Lancaster, 54, took to Instagram on Friday, where she shared a poignant quote about being broken-hearted as she continues to mourn the loss.
Lancaster shared the statement from an account titled The Good Grief Trust. The post included an old Japanese proverb about death
Penny Lancaster shared a poignant post on social media
"There is a Japanese legend that says crying is just the way your eyes speak when your mouth can't explain how broken your heart is," Lancaster reposted.
The candid quote is likely about Lancaster's grief, with the former model and rocker husband Sir Rod Stewart famously proud dog lovers.
Their dedication has been noted by charities, with the two featured in a post by animal charity Celia Hammond Animal Trust last year.
The husband and wife were snapped snuggled up to their dog in the sweet photo.

The two also shared their personal story about their other dog, Lilly, at the time, writing: "Lilly, our rescue dog from Battersea, came into our lives just before lockdown.
"She shows us her gratitude every day with her love, protection and loyalty," Hello! magazine reports.
They continued: "She doesn't leave our sides and is the best guard dog, warning us of anyone approaching ten minutes before we know they're even close.
"Lilly's unconditional love is like no other. We may have rescued her, but we are so blessed to have found her."
Last week's sad update saw Lancaster flooded with support after she confirmed Lilly's confidante Bubbles had passed away.
Lancaster shared on social media: "Our fur baby Bubbles. I still think you left too soon but I'm thankful for your time. Heaven's lucky to have you and so was I."
The sad news followed a health update she shared about the Cavapoo days earlier, which accompanied an adorable snap of Lancaster with her two pooches.
"My fur babies, my gifts from up above, my angles on earth, you warm my heart and lift my spirits," she began.
"Bubbles our curly one has been diagnosed with cancer and although his recent surgery was successful, sadly it’s spread."
She added: "Our Lilly from @battersea keeps him company and never leaves his side and the two of them never leave my side. Companions for life, for as long as that life will be and I feel blessed for every moment I spend with them."
She ended the statement with a love heart emojis and a series of moving hashtags that read: "#dogs #unconditionallove #friendsforlife." (sic)
A week on from the loss, Lancaster understandably seems to be in the throes of bereavement.
However, she's also had reason to celebrate new life too, as she and Stewart, 80, welcomed his newest grandchild earlier this week.
