The former Brexit Party leader has been courted by ITV bosses

Princess Diana’s former butler has urged Nigel Farage to take part in this year’s edition of I’m a Celebrity, branding it a “wonderful opportunity”.

Paul Burrell, who competed on the ITV reality series in 2004, said the GB News star would “regret it” should he shun the chance.

Speaking on GB News last night, Farage admitted he is giving the offer “serious consideration”.

The former Brexit Party leader has been courted by ITV bosses for several previous editions of the show, but has turned them down each time.

This time round, Farage appears to have had a change of heart as he spoke about the chance to appeal to a younger demographic.

Burrell is one who would love to see the GB News presenter down under, saying there is “no one else” he would prefer in the jungle.

“Do it. I want to see Nigel Farage glugging a cockroach cocktail”, he said.

“I think he would be brilliant in the jungle. He’s not afraid of danger or confrontation and they are valuable assets to have in the jungle.

“Remember, there is nowhere to hide, the public will see who you are and they will make up their own minds. I don’t think he has anything to lose.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity, it changed my life and it shows people who you really are.

“Don’t turn it down, you will always regret it.”

Burrell continued by suggesting ITV could end up splashing the cash in their endeavours to entice Farage.

“Farage will be top billing”, he said.

“ITV could go to half a million. That is a big price. He’s a big guy and other than Boris Johnson, I can’t think of anyone I would prefer to see in the jungle.”

Mark Dolan concurred with the statement by suggesting the cost of Nigel’s signature is “priceless”.

He said: “There is speculation it could be heading towards a million, but signing Nigel is priceless.

“With Nigel, the numbers would go through the roof.”

Speaking on his GB News show, Farage said he has been contacted “several times” by ITV bosses since 2016 attempting to lure him down under.

“They have been back on the phone this year. The Sun mocked up as if I was there already and the Mail seems certain I am going to go”, he said.

“This year, I am giving it very, very serious consideration. And I will tell you why.

“You’ve got about 10 million young people who watch that programme. These are people that don’t really watch the news or read newspapers, but they still care about the country they live in and their futures.

“In many ways, the futures of young people have been blighted, they don’t have the same opportunities that their parents and grandparents had, and they would love to look for solutions.”
