Her statement comes as violent riots continue to take place after a week of chaotic scenes

Paloma Faith has penned a passionate message opposing the current riots taking place across the UK.

The 43-year-old singer frequently voices her political opinions and has now shared a message to condemn the destructive rioting that was sparked by misinformation regarding the tragic killings of three schoolgirls in Southport.

In the last week, police have been tackling violent demonstrations in Liverpool, Belfast, Manchester, Liverpool, Hull, Bristol, Middlesborough and other areas in the UK by extremists.

The mobs have been smashing windows, shops and cars as well as starting fires and attacking police officers and mosques.

The violence was sparked following the stabbings in Southport which killed three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

On Monday evening, Plymouth became the latest city to be impacted by the violence, with crowds seen being held apart by riot police.

Thugs taking part threw rocks and fireworks, with groups continuing to damage buildings and loot shops across the country.

Misinformation regarding the stabbing suspect's identity spread on social media last week, which initially led to the ongoing riots.

As the chaos continues a week later, Faith has shared a scathing message in which she fumed "f*** off" at those "ruining our country".

Posting a statement on Instagram, the singer penned: "My message to the right-wing idiots ruining our country... As the mother of two half-Muslim North African children and as a born and raised resident and proud member of the Hackney community, I stand vehemently against racism of any kind.

"I am proud of a Britain which is diverse, integrated and accepting of all cultures.

"We cannot scapegoat minorities for this country's problems when in my experience all they have done is contribute to the rich, diverse culture I grew up in that has shaped the best parts of me and the people I love and adore."

She concluded the post: "With all due respect to the right wing facists, f*** off."

Faith often shares her thoughts about current events and recently took aim at the Glastonbury line-up ahead of the festival in June.

Due to previous backlash over the lack of diversity in the event's line-up, Dua Lipa and SZA were unveiled as two of the headlines while and Shania Twain was placed in the "Legends" slot.

Faith remained cynical about the changes though, and ahead of the festival admitted: "What tends to happen is they’ll diversify and include non-white races and women again, and everyone says, ‘Isn’t it great? We’re progressing’ – and then it goes back to white men again for years."

Speaking to Radio Times, she went on: "I'll believe it when I see it."

However, she continued by telling the publication: "I'm there to watch as many women artists as I can. I really want to support other women. Everyone they've got is amazing.

"This industry tends to be a bit sexist and overlook women of my age.

"I felt that there was no way in hell that I would be acknowledged as a worthy person because I’m 42."
