The Rodney Trotter actor will star in the upcoming Frasier reboot alongside Kelsey Grammer
Two decades on from leaving the life of Rodney Trotter behind him, actor Nicholas Lyndhurst is stepping back into the world of sitcoms.
The actor, who's also starred in New Tricks, Goodnight Sweetheart and Rock & Chips since Only Fools ended, has landed a role in the reboot of Frasier.
The new series will welcome back Kelsey Grammer in the titular role alongside a number of new faces to the cast as well as Lyndhurst.
Lyndhurst will play the role of Alan Cornwall, an old pal of Frasier's and now a university professor.
In a first look at the reboot, Lyndhurst's Alan joins Frasier and the new character Olivia for a drink.
Olivia is played by Toks Olagundoye, an actor best known for starring in Castle, The Rookie, and several animated series.

This time around, a number of new faces will join Grammer, including Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier's son, Freddy.
Other names fans may recognise include Workin' Moms star Jess Salgueiro and relative newcomer Anders Keith.
Discussing Lyndhurst's involvement in the new series, Grammer previously told The Times: "Nick and I fell in love when we were doing Man Of La Mancha together.
