Only Fools and Horses star David Jason has reprised his role as Del Boy for a new sketch – and it seems it didn’t take him long to get back into the swing of things.
The BBC series ran from 1981 to 2003 for seven seasons and followed the life of Del Boy Trotter and his brother Rodney Trotter (played by Nicholas Lyndhurst).
The sketch, which takes place in a new episode of Car SOS, will be the first time Jason has done any TV roles as Del Boy in a number of years.
Channel 4 show host Tim Shaw opened up on what it was like to have Jason on the show and admitted it was easier than he thought to get him to reprise Del Boy.
“David was a special guest on an episode and I managed to persuade him to do Del Boy again. It’s a sketch that I think will surprise people.
“It was one of the highlights of my life. It’s something I never thought would happen. When was the last time we saw David playing Del Boy? I can’t remember so it was absolutely surreal,” he told the Daily Star.

Del Boy “returns” to help with the restoration of a Datsun 240k Skyline, with Shaw admitting: “I told David I had an idea for a sketch and he said, ‘Oh you want some lovely jubbly… go on then, let’s give it a pop'.
“He dropped straight into it. The next thing he’s Del Boy and he’s reading a newspaper and selling some car parts on eBay.”
Co-host Fuzz Townshend added: “The car was perfect for him because if you leaned against the roof, you fell straight into it.
“It was a bit like David’s famous sketch where he fell through the bar,” before Shaw continued: “David was an absolute pro. He is sharp as a razor with wits in every sense of the word.”

Jason isn’t the only Fools and Horses star who is returning to one of his most popular roles as Nicholas Lyndhurst has signed another contract for the popular US sitcom, Frasier.
The star has reportedly landed a big-money deal to reprise his role as the ever sarcastic Dr Alan Cornwall, starring alongside Kelsey Grammer, who plays Frasier Crane.
A Los Angeles show insider has claimed: “Nicholas has signed on the dotted line to film another series. It’s a coup for the show because he’s so popular. Viewers love him."
Over the years, many fans have called for the iconic BBC series to return, but Jason put a stop to the rumours previously.

He told Radio Times: "I’ve had offers over the years, but without John Sullivan [creator who died in 2011] it just wouldn’t work.
"He was a magician and could whip up humour out of virtually nothing – that was his genius. Without him, I don’t see it working, sadly."
