Nigel has done himself proud!

Nigel Farage was all smiles as he was announced as this year's I'm A Celebrity third-placed star.

Joining Sam Thompson and Tony Bellew in the final three, Farage endeared himself to the nation by making it all the way to the finale.

Sadly, the jungle crown was just one step too far but Farage can hold his head high knowing he's defied the odds and proved himself to the naysayers and boycott callers.

After joking he was a "Remainer" during his final day in camp, Farage's last 24 hours were just as packed full of fun and action as the previous three weeks.

He took on one final Bushtucker Trial and left everyone impressed by completing Panic Pit without any hesitation and even triumphantly declared afterward: "I didn't even flinch."

After missing out on the top two spots, Farage joined Ant and Dec where he reminisced about his time in camp.

"Day 24 in the jungle, I came into it with a positive attitude," Farage said to the I'm A Celeb hosts. "To be honest with you, I loved it."

When asked why he decided to take part, Farage replied: "Because I had time to do it and I began to think 60 next birthday and I'm about to reach an age when you can't do it...

"Now was the right time to do it, very pleased I did. I threw myself into everything 100 percent."

But was he surprised he made it to the final three? Farage revealed: "No I'm not surprised, I'm absolutely thrilled!"

And when probed on his clashes with a handful of campmates, Farage replied: "Not everyone likes what I've campaigned for over the years... but we're all entitled to our opinion.

"If you asked me if I would do it again, I think I probably would!"

After finishing third, a number of I'm A Celebrity fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to congratulate Farage for his jungle stint.

GB News colleague Richard Tice posted: "Well done Nigel [applause emojis] Finalist #ImACeleb."

And Darren Grimes echoed: "So sad to see Nigel not win it. But you know what? History will remember that man long after the jungle. He has proven himself as someone that didn’t complain, grumble or seek drama.

"A truly good man that loves his country and what he does. Certainly my winner anyway! #ImACeleb."

Elsewhere, one ITV viewer applauded: "Magnificent performance from Nigel Farage! He made it to the final. He's reached a massive new audience, we saw the real Nigel, and the public loved him. Congrats Nige... You utterly smashed it #ImACeleb."

And a second viewer concurred: "#ImACeleb Third place for Nigel Farage. Came across very well all the way trough, a decent man. Not like the way he is attacked all the time in the media."

At the end of Sunday's finale, it was announced that Sam Thompson had been crowned this year's King of the Jungle.
