The GB News star's chances of jungle glory have sky-rocketed

Ahead of Nigel Farage's stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, bookmakers have revealed they've slashed their odds on the GB News star being crowned King of the Jungle.

Despite ridiculous boycott calls by some disgruntled fans and a line-up that boasts other popular famous figures, Farage has emerged as one of the frontrunners - even though he was initially written off by some bookies.

After he was officially unveiled as one of this year's campmates earlier this week, William Hill has revealed it quickly slashed its 20/1 odds on the GB News star.

On Tuesday, Farage's odds with the bookmakers stood at a much more flattering 11/2.

Only a handful of celebs were priced more favourably than Farage in what was a huge boost to the former Brexit Party leader - and a huge slap in the face to the woke crying for his expulsion from the competition.

The only celebs who William Hill thought may stand a better chance than Farage were This Morning presenter Josie Gibson who was the early outright favourite at 11/4, Fred Sirieix (9/2) and Sam Thompson (5/1).

The likes of Nella Rose, Nick Pickard, Jamie Lynn Spears, Grace Dent, Marvin Humes, and Danielle Harold were all priced at longer odds than Farage.

However, as of Thursday afternoon, Farage's odds have been slashed AGAIN - with the 59-year-old currently the second-favourite to win the show and tied with Siriex on new 9/2 odds and Gibson drifting to 3/1.

Lee Phelps, spokesperson for William Hill, said of the market on Tuesday before Thursday's shift: "ITV may only have announced their line up for this year’s edition of I’m A Celebrity last night, but we’ve already been forced to slash our price for Nigel Farage to win the show.

"The former UKIP leader has been popular with punters since the market opened last week and has seen his odds to become King of the Jungle drop significantly from 20/1 to 11/2, putting him amongst the favourites to win the Jungle Crown.

"This Morning presenter Josie Gibson is our early outright favourite to win the show at 11/4, with Fred Sirieix (9/2) and Sam Thompson (5/1) also tipped to perform strongly."

Farage has already been backed by a number of his GB News colleagues to emerge victorious Down Under.

Eamonn Holmes threw his support behind Farage during an episode of Breakfast this week while Martin Daubney also suggested punters should back his GB News colleague.

Even former I'm A Celeb winner Harry Redknapp has backed Farage to be crowned King of the Jungle.

Speaking to GB News ahead of his stint in the jungle, Farage delved into exactly why he's decided to answer ITV bosses' calls.

"The Brexit referendum was a long time ago, and a lot of younger people don’t know who I am or what I stand for," he explained.

“This is a really big chance to reach a big audience of young people which will be good for me and good for GB News as well.

“That’s one reason for doing it. Another reason is that for over 40 years, I’ve lived by the clock.

“Whether that’s working in financial markets, working in the European Parliament, being a radio broadcaster, a speaker or presenter, I’ve lived by the numbers.

“To go away from that for several weeks is a big challenge. To confront things that are obviously frightening.

“To deal with them and come through them is a really good challenge.”
