He described Berry as "an amazing, highly talented performer" in his tribute.

He added: "A tragic loss to our world of music, and I hope that he is now having a laugh with many of his old pals up in Heaven."

Berry's career in entertainment spanned an impressive 64 years, beginning with his first hit single Tribute to Buddy Holly in 1961.

The haunting track established him as a notable figure in the British music scene.

He later gained further recognition through his acting work, particularly in the beloved comedy series Are You Being Served?.

Stockton highlighted these achievements in his tribute, noting Berry was "a gifted actor, highlighted by his performances in the iconic comedy Are You Being Served."

The performer remained active until the very end of his life, with his final show taking place just weeks before his death.

His last performance was at The Half Moon on February 23, which his manager noted was "a sell out".

Stockton described the show as "testimony to his superb talent".

Berry's ability to draw a full house in his final appearance demonstrated the enduring appeal of an artist whose contributions to both music and television spanned more than six decades.

In the classic BBC sitcom Are You Being Served, Berry took on the role of Mr Spooner in 21 episodes.

According to IMDb, he made his debut in the show in the season eight premiere before departing at the end of the 10th run.

His last on-screen acting credit came in 2019 in the short film, Scatterbrook Days.

However, he did also make a brief return to screen in 2016 during the blind auditions of the singing competition, The Voice.

Performing for will.i.am, Paloma Faith, Boy George and Ricky Wilson, Berry belted out a rendition of True Love Ways for the judges.

Berry's performance was so good that Boy George noted within moments that Berry was a "professional".
