The Winterwatch star has been a fan favourite since the beginning of the show

Michaela Strachan could have her chances at winning the competition blown and say goodbye to her skates this weekend as worrying new data has emerged ahead of tonight's instalment.

Last weekend, Strachan and her partner Mark Hanretty skated to Bananarama’s Venus and landed themselves second from the bottom of the leaderboard.

After only scoring 34 out of a possible 40, fans of the show were left gobsmacked and claimed the scores had been fixed for her to leave.

The scoring of the star‘s performances has repeatedly decreased despite the fact they think the performance should have received top marks.

Lashing out at the programme, one enraged viewer slammed the decision on X as they said: "SICK of them undermarking Michaela.

"She's one of the best skaters they've had in years and ever since they told her to stop skating on her own as much the marks have stayed the same."

Another added: "Michaela could have red, white and blue smoke trails coming out of her tutu like a red arrow and still not get a 10 from the judges."

A third then penned: "I said this last week, but I feel the judges have really thrown Michaela.

"They criticised her for her solo skating/confidence and now she's playing safe, which she's being criticised for."

Before a fourth asked: "Why do I get the feeling that the judges want Dan and Vanessa to win over Michaela and Mark?”

It seems that despite the concern about her scores, bookmakers have priced Strachan to be leaving the series this weekend.

Support for her has remained strong, and while she still leads with odds of 13/8 (38.1 per cent probability), there has been a surge of backing for Dan Edgar, who now sits close behind at 9/4 (30.8 per cent probability).

This is a significant drop for Strachan, who just last week sat with odds of 6/5 and 45% probability to win.

Analysing the latest odds, Betfred’s Kayley Cornelius said: “Since the first week of the competition, Countryfile star Michaela Strachan has been the unwavering favourite to win among us bookmakers.

“While she remains the frontrunner with odds of 13/8, she may find it increasingly difficult to hold on to that title as TOWIE’s Dan Edgar continues to bridge the gap.

Now sitting just behind Michaela at 9/4, a strong performance this weekend could see him narrow the margin even further—or even overtake her entirely.”

As Edgar closes the gap on Strachan, Sam Aston currently sits at 7/2 to win this competition, with Mollie Pearce priced at 5/1 and Anton Ferdinand at 50/1.
