Michael Mosley: Fresh CCTV shows TV doctor 'falling' on rocky hillside before death

Mosley "very nearly made it" to safety as his body was found very close to the beach on a rocky section of a hike he had set off on.

Now, a bar close to the area is said to have captured Mosley's fall as he navigated a treacherous incline.

It's been reported his fall was out of the camera range. The footage has reportedly been seen by PA and local journalists in Greece.

The CCTV came from a beach bar at Agia Marina. An official cause of death hasn't yet been determined, but it was previously reported Mosley had "no signs of injury".

Mosley's widow Clare Bailey Mosley issued a heartbreaking statement following the news that Mosley's body had been discovered.

"I don’t know quite where to begin with this," she remarked. "It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband.

"We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together.

"I am incredibly proud of our children, their resilience and support over the past days.

"My family and I have been hugely comforted by the outpouring of love from people from around the world. It’s clear that Michael meant a huge amount to so many of you.

"We’re taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it.

"He did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn’t be easily seen by the extensive search team."

A huge search began after Mosley went missing on Wednesday after he went for a walk alone along a coastal path in searing heat on the Greek island of Symi.

Mosley was a well-known health specialist who advised people on his BBC podcast, Just One Thing, about how to make healthy habits and choices.

He also featured regularly on ITV's This Morning and BBC's The One Show.
