Michael Bolton has revealed he was diagnosed with brain cancer and underwent “immediate surgery” just before the holidays.
Bolton, 70, who made an appearance on The Masked Singer last year took to social media on Friday and opened up about his health.
The When A Man Loves A Woman singer explained he was now “recuperating at home” and was surrounded by his supporting family.
He wrote on Facebook: “I want to start by wishing everyone a very happy and healthy new year!

“I also want to share that 2023 ended up presenting me with some very unexpected challenges.
“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery.”
Bolton continued: “Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success.
“I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.

“For the next couple of months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery which means I’ll have to take a temporary break from touring.
“It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.
“I am beyond grateful for all the love and support you have so generously shown me through the years.”
Bolton concluded that he is keeping “positive messages” from fans in his heart and that he would give more updates as soon as he is able.

His diagnosis and subsequent surgery have meant his upcoming tour hangs in limbo.
On the singer’s official website, various tour dates were scheduled throughout 2024, with concerts originally slated to begin on February 1 in Florida.
The Go The Distance singer currently lives in Connecticut and released his latest album in June 2023.
The album contained tracks such as Beautiful World and Just The Beginning with Bolton describing the songs contained as a message to find happiness and positivity in difficult times.
