The Friends star was found dead at his Los Angeles home on October 28

The audio from the 911 dispatch call made following Matthew Perry's death has been obtained by a US publication.

Perry died on October 28 from an apparent drowning in a hot tub at his LA home in the Pacific Palisades at the age of 54.

It was reported by TMZ, the same publication that first obtained the 911 dispatch audio, that his assistant made the call to authorities.

An autopsy had been completed on the Friends star but it remains inconclusive pending toxicology tests, according to a spokesperson for the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Listeners can hear a man say the word "drowning" during the short 15-second audio released of the 911 dispatch conversation.

"Agent 23. Rescue 23. EMS 9 on the radio. In response to the drowning,” a man says in the audio, although certain words and phrases have been censored.

The audio is not the initial 911 call made to authorities but rather the dispatch call which came soon after.

Law enforcement is believed to have arrived at the property at around 4pm on the afternoon of October 28.

Perry's parents arrived at the house in the hours after his death as his mother Suzanne Morrison and his father John Bennett Perry were pictured driving to the property.

Tributes from far and wide have flooded in for Perry following his death, including from a number of his Friends co-stars.

Janice star Maggie Wheeler was one of the first Friends stars to take to social media to pay tribute to her former colleague.

She penned alongside a snap of Janice and Perry's Chandler Bing: "What a loss. The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on.

"I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared," she added.

Meanwhile, Paget Brewster, who played another of Chandler's girlfriends, Kathy, took to X, formerly known as Twitter with a message of her own: "I’m so very sad to hear about @MatthewPerry.
