Former Love Island winner Jack Fincham has opened up to GB News about his battle with addiction, revealing how boxing is helping him stay "on the straight and narrow".
The reality star, who has been sober since Christmas Day, candidly discussed his struggles with alcohol and drugs in an interview with GB News.
"If you've got addictive tendencies, it's not as simple as just saying, 'That's it. I'm done'.
"Yeah, of course you want to be done—I wanted to stop ten years ago.
"It is hard. But I think without boxing, and without a good support network of people, it probably would still be ongoing.

"I was actually speaking to my mum the other day, and we were talking about what it’s like.
"She said to me, 'Why? What are you doing? Why can’t you just stop?'

"And I said, “Mum, the only way I can describe it is... imagine stabbing yourself with something. It hurts. You don’t want to do it—you really don’t—but you physically can’t stop."
"Do you know how awful that is? Sometimes, you don’t want to be doing it. I didn’t want to be sitting in a room at five in the morning, on my own, doing that. But I just couldn’t stop.
"So that’s why I’m so glad I’ve managed to wash my hands of it now. I’m doing the right thing.
"And honestly, without boxing, yeah... I’d probably be in a bad place."
Fincham shot to fame after winning Love Island in 2018 with then-girlfriend Dani Dyer.
However, his life took a different path compared to Dyer's rising career.
In a shocking revelation during a recent ITV appearance, Fincham admitted to wasting "very close to £1million" due to his addictions.
"I was working a lot on ITV and at one point I was ready to sort of sign a contract with them," he revealed.

These setbacks were due to what he now recognises as addiction.
"That was all down to active addiction, which I didn't even realise was a problem then."
"I can't turn round and say it was worse? No way. Because I've done some amazing things," he told GB News.
He reflected on opportunities like filming in China and meeting celebrities such as Freddie Flintoff.
