Lisa Hogan has weighed in on the cashless society debate after a row emerged over Diddly Squat farm shop, owned by her partner Jeremy Clarkson, only accepting card payments.
The 51-year-old Irish actress features alongside her 64-year-old partner on the popular Amazon show following happenings on the writer and broadcaster’s farm.
The row came to light on Instagram after a fan penned a complaint beneath a video posted to the farm’s official account.
“Visited the farm shop and bar on the weekend. Why card only? Please consider accepting cash too,” they began.

In their lengthy post, the disgruntled fan outlined the myriad of dangers posed by a cashless society and the benefits of maintaining a physical unit of exchange.
“I agree with you on so many levels,” Hogan wrote in response from her personal Instagram account.
The complainant responded: “Good to hear, hope you make the change.”
Within their post, the fan warned of the privacy killing risks of a cashless society – including increased exposure to hackers and fraudsters.

They also argued it would leave normal people unable to “opt-out” of corporate and Government surveillance.
“People in abusive situations are often financially reliant on their abuser. If cash is removed, their way out will be that much harder or close to impossible.
They concluded: “Elderly, blind and people with disabilities will struggle. Many people can’t or don’t know how to use technology. They would also be vulnerable to scams and other technological difficulties. #keepcashalive”
While no official word has been issued from the farm, Hogan appeared to have leant her support to the cause with her comment.

The news comes as nearly half, 48 percent, of people expect to see the UK go cashless in their lifetime, new research from Link data suggests.
Figures also showed that one-in-six punters admitted they never carry cash on them, a figure which more than tripled since 2019.
Diddly Squat's cashless set-up came to light as Hogan updated fans on the farm's pregnant cows, posting a selfie video on Instagram.
She swooped round a barn in the clip, showing four cows still yet to give birth and the three adorable calves that had been born over the week.
Hogan spoke in hushed tones as she introduced the “sweet” new arrivals that had been born from Endgame, the farm’s bull.
However, the cute scenes quickly became host to a debate on the direction of Britain’s money as a fan spoke up in the comments.
