Oasis icon Liam Gallagher has had his say on comment made by singer Dua Lipa about bands from the Britpop era.
The Houdini hitmaker had said in a recent interview that the likes of Oasis' Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn of Blur fame were "obnoxious" in the height of their fame.
Dua Lipa had said her new record was created with the "don’t give a f**k-ness” of Britpop legends in her mind.
But when pressed by Rolling Stone about how Noel Gallagher and Albarn had treated their female counterparts, Dua Lipa didn't mince her words.
"I haven’t had any encounters with them, actually," Dua Lipa said referring to Noel Gallagher and Albarn specifically.
She told the publication: "Sometimes you have to separate the art from the person… It’s more like the music element, the aspect of it that I’m really connected to."
Dua Lipa went on to add: "The way that [some Brit-pop artists] acted, the things that they’ve done, they’re obnoxious for sure. That’s their whole thing."
However, the New Rules singer also blasted the environment and expectations surrounding the bands in the 1990s.
"There’s so much toxicity in the way people wanted their artists or their musicians (that) if they weren’t like that, they would’ve been seen as boring... I think that’s such a bad way to see things."
Now, Wonderwall singer Gallagher has addressed Dua Lipa's comments head-on after they were put to him on social media.

One fan put to Gallagher: "LG, Dua Lipa said that bands like Oasis and Blur’s behaviour are 'obnoxious'. What do you think about that?"
The 51-year-old had just three words to say in response as he replied: "She’s just jealous."
And he didn't stop there when another X user jumped to Dua Lipa's defence.
They hit back at Gallagher: "Come off it, Dua Lipa's one of the biggest pop stars on the planet - she's not jealous of you and she has a fair point Liam.

"You and Noel were utterly obnoxious in the '90s and '00s, and many other men in Britpop bands were misogynistic p***ks."
But Gallagher doubled down and reiterated: "She’s jealous we can swear and tell people to f**k off and she can’t."
Safe to say Gallagher's response was met with a divided reaction from his followers and Dua Lipa fans on the social media site.
