The mum of five recently opened up about dealing with excruciating pain whilst on holiday in Spain

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona has issued another update on her recent cancer scare and revealed she has finally received the all-clear from her doctors - pushing her to make some huge future changes.

The 43-year-old was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2020 and was hospitalised two months ago - the condition means that tissue embeds itself into other organs and can be extremely painful and cause fertility issues.

Whilst Katona first thought that her endometriosis had worsened, she was given worse news and had to be tested for cancer in her ovaries after doctors found a cyst.

She admitted to OK! Magazine that she immediately thought of the worst and began making plans for her kids in the future if she was no longer around - something she didn't foresee happening.

However, she recently sat down with the same publication and revealed that she had officially been given the all-clear and felt as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

Katona said: "I shared this story with you all last week. It’s such a weight off my shoulders, now that I’ve got the all-clear. It was so scary, I genuinely thought this was it – and was convinced I’d be told I had cancer.

"It’s crazy how much a woman’s body goes through and what stress can do to our cycles. I’ve had so many messages from women who are going through the same thing and are now going to get themselves checked, so I’m glad it has helped people."

She was also keen to urge women going through the same issue to seek help as soon as possible whilst thanking her doctor for putting her mind at rest through the whole thing.

"I am always honest and I think it’s important to share health issues such as these to help raise awareness. I want to thank Dr André Brittain-Dissont again for all his help."

Pushing through the health scare, Katona is considering adding another member to her family who she shares with fiancé Ryan Mahoney and revealed: "When I went for my scan last week and got the all-clear, I was told that I’ve still got follicles – meaning I could have another baby.

"I don’t think I would have another one, but Ryan keeps changing his mind! If he wants another one then that’s fine, but we need to get a move on."

"But saying that, I would never carry another child. I would get a surrogate. The reason for that is that Molly and Lilly have some trauma from when I had DJ.

"It was such a traumatic birth and DJ nearly died during the labour, but that got lost in communication and the girls thought that I had died, so since then they’ve told me they couldn’t handle me having another child myself."

Despite getting the all-clear, Katona previously admitted that she was considering getting a hysterectomy to alleviate the constant pain she was in.

She added to OK!: "The tests showed there's no cancer in my cervix, which is great news and put my mind at ease a bit, but the pain hasn't stopped. It's made me consider a hysterectomy.

"I'm at an age where I don't want any more kids so if it could help with the constant pain I'm in, then I'm seriously thinking about it."
