The former model has not had the best track record when it comes to owning animals

Katie Price has sparked worry among her fans as she was photographed with what has been reported as her new 10-week-old Cocker Spaniel, Rookie – despite her devastating track record with animals.

Reports have indicated that at least eight animals have died under Price's care, including five dogs, a horse, and a chameleon.

Due to the nature of the way some of the animals have left Price’s care, a petition calling for her to be banned from keeping animals has gathered 37,000 signatures.

Animal rights organisation PETA has reportedly also offered the former model £5,000 to sign a contract pledging not to keep any more pets.

The charity sent Price an open letter stating that "things have gone horribly wrong with many of the animals under her supervision".

Several of Price's pets have died on the A24 road near her East Sussex home, with the latest being her German Shepherd, Blade, who was struck and killed on the busy road.

Price took to Instagram following Blade's death, writing: "Words can't express the loss of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today."

She later claimed she believed her guard dog was killed deliberately in a “sick” attack.

The incident came just six months after her Pomeranian, Sharon, lost its life in a crash on the same stretch of road.

In 2020, Price's Alsatian, Sparkle, also died on the A24, while another Alsatian, Queenie, was allegedly struck by a pizza delivery driver who fled the scene.

In July of the same year, Price's French bulldog, Rolo, died in what was described as a freak accidentafter becoming trapped under an electric armchair.

Price attempted to save the puppy through CPR and rushed him to a veterinarian, but it was too late.

Explaining the incident on YouTube, Price said: "There was nothing they could do, but they did say he wouldn't have died in pain, it was quick."

"Basically, I was in the other room because we're going on holiday, packing their suitcases. There was five people in the other room, so people saying the puppy was left, it wasn't left at all."

In her memoir, Price suggested her daughter Princess may have accidentally given the dog too much CBD oil.

A source told The Sun that Price's pet ownership may be influenced by social media appeal, stating: "Katie only got [Tank] a few months ago but she gave him away to her electrician.

She loves getting puppies that look cute on Instagram but when they start to grow up and she has to train them she loses interest."

The pattern of rehoming pets includes Tank, who was reportedly given away after no longer suiting her Instagram image, and an Alsatian puppy named Bear who was rehomed in 2019 after multiple escapes.

Price also previously owned Sphynx cats Dobby and Hagrid, which she claimed to sell in 2017.
