The comedian faced a medical emergency during the race on Sunday

Joel Dommett experienced a dramatic turn of events during the 2025 London Marathon on Sunday when he fainted at mile 17 and woke up in an ambulance.

The 39-year-old Masked Singer host was among thousands of participants in the annual race through the capital over the weekend.


What began as an exciting marathon attempt quickly became a medical emergency when Dommett collapsed around halfway through the course.

Despite the serious setback, the determined presenter refused to give up on his challenge.

Concerns were raised when Dommett failed to share any updates on social media after reaching mile 15 of the marathon route.

The TV personality later revealed the alarming incident to his followers on Instagram, explaining that he had lost consciousness during the race.

In an impressive display of perseverance, Dommett eventually returned to the course after receiving medical attention and went on to complete the marathon.

Taking to Instagram after the event, Dommett wrote: "Not the race I expected! I fainted at mile 17 - don't really remember much but I woke up in an ambulance!"

The presenter expressed gratitude to the medical team who assisted him during the emergency.

"Thanks to Frankie and Barry for being amazing," he continued in his social media post.

Despite the collapse, Dommett was determined to complete what he had started.

"I really wanted to finish it," he explained to his followers alongside a snap of himself with two paramedics.

The TV host revealed that medical staff monitored his condition following the frightening incident.

After receiving appropriate care, Dommett was eventually cleared to continue the marathon.

"After a few hours my pulse was back and I got going again at a very different pace but really got to soak it all in," he shared.

Despite the setback, Dommett's determination paid off as he successfully completed the London Marathon with an impressive time of 6 hours, 3 minutes and 27 seconds.

At the finish line, Dommett was photographed sporting his well-earned finisher's medal and a beaming smile.
