The Towie star had recently celebrated Valentine's day with her youngster before he fell ill

Former Towie star Jess Wright has revealed her two-year-old son Presley was rushed to hospital after becoming "limp and lifeless" during a frightening health scare.

The 39-year-old reality TV personality shared details of the ordeal on Instagram, stating she wanted to highlight "how important it is to go and get them checked when your gut knows something just isn't right."

Wright, who gave birth to Presley in May 2022, described the past week as "tough" for the family as they dealt with her son's mystery illness.

The toddler, who has a rare congenital heart disease called Bicuspid Aortic Valve, suddenly became unresponsive last Tuesday.

Wright reported that Presley began refusing food and vomiting during the night, leading to him sleeping in his parents' bed - something he rarely does.

The illness progressed to include what Wright described as a "horrific cough, with a temperature."

By Friday, her maternal instinct prompted her to take him to A&E, where he was initially sent home after receiving Nurofen as his observations were deemed "ok."

The concerned mother noted that for 48 hours, her son had maintained a temperature and displayed rapid breathing, particularly at night, which she said "frightened me beyond belief."

By Saturday, Presley appeared more lifeless than before, pale and having not eaten for around 48 hours except for some oat milk which he mostly vomited.

Wright called her mother Carol to the house after noticing Presley's worsening cough during lunchtime.

"I ran him upstairs not knowing what to do to stop him from coughing like vapour rub and sitting in front of a humidifier but it wasn't stopping until he was then basically asleep," she recounted.

Paramedics arrived within eight minutes of Wright's 999 call, discovering RSV symptoms. The emergency call handler had instructed Wright to locate a defibrillator, which she said made her "want to just collapse."

At the hospital, Presley received additional throat steroids after his oxygen levels dropped during the ambulance journey.

Following four "frightening and lengthy hours," doctors discovered crackling at the bottom of his right lung, indicating a chest infection.

After being prescribed antibiotics, Wright reported that within 48 hours, Presley was back to his usual self, happily playing with his toys.

Celebrity friends offered support, with Gemma Atkinson commenting: "Gosh that's so scary for you all. Glad he's on the mend."
