Jeremy Clarkson couldn't resist hitting back at Jeremy Vine on Tuesday when the Channel 5 TV host endorsed new plans from Sadiq Khan's Transport for London (TfL).
TfL is plotting to overhaul the Holland Park Roundabout in the capital, with London's mayor ploughing on with the plans despite opposition from local business owners and residents' associations.
The roundabout in question will be revamped to include cycle routes, signals, and crossings, including a new two-way protected cycle lane from the east of Shepherd's Bush Green and along the south of the roundabout, connecting to Holland Park Avenue.
Vine has been a vocal critic of the London area before as a keen cyclist, branding it dangerous for those who travel around the city on bicycles.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
While the plans have been lauded by Vine and other cyclists on social media platform X, campaigners have criticised Khan's latest venture.
Opponents have said plans are flawed and that car users will end up embarking on longer journeys as well as being at a heightened risk of accidents.
Elsewhere, a priority bus lane will be installed, and an existing pedestrian crossing outside the station across Uxbridge Road will be widened and realigned, according to the Daily Mail.
Taking to social media to laud the plans, Vine penned to his 765.8k X followers: "Just seen this drawing of the new Holland Park Roundabout. THANK GOD someone is at last taking seriously the safety of vulnerable road users.
I use it frequently too. And it’s fine because I have a car, not a child’s toy.

"Having a Grand Prix here every day is ridiculous. I'm speaking as one who uses it constantly, and it's a huge barrier to happy commuting."
YouTuber Cycling Mikey, who often shares videos criticising road users for endangering cyclists, was one supporter who echoed Vine's plaudits.
"I can't wait for this - it's a nightmare, and I too use this roundabout regularly," he penned.
However, Clarkson was in disagreement with Vine, Cycling Mikey, Khan, and the plans as a whole, replying to the BBC Radio 2 star's post: "I use it frequently too...

Vine hasn't responded to Clarkson's retort, but Cycling Mikey hit back: "You are the child."
This isn't the first time Vine and Clarkson have found themselves in a war of words over the use of roads by drivers and cyclists.
Vine once branded Clarkson a "muppet" for his criticism of a cyclist on the road, although admitted after he "regretted" the outburst.
Jeremy Vine has long advocated for cyclists' safety
PAWriting in the Telegraph in November, Vine admitted: "I was rude to Jeremy Clarkson online once, which I regret.
"I’d had a drink, and he was cross about a cyclist he’d encountered and saying ‘what’s he doing in my way?’ I wrote in reply, ‘he’s got every right to be there you muppet’.
"Neither he or I played any further part, but it triggered this horrible war between drivers and cyclists online, which went on for two or three days.
"Sadly, Twitter or X has gone even further down the pan since then. I know if I post something it will get abuse."
