The first half of the third season of Clarkson's Farm has finally arrived

Clarkson's Farm viewers have been left reaching for the tissues just moments into the first episode of its latest series.

Jeremy Clarkson, Lisa Hogan, Kaleb Cooper, Charlie Ireland and the rest of the Diddly Squat family returned to Amazon Prime Video on Friday in the first four episodes of the third season - the second part is released on May 10.

As always, Clarkson and his team delved into the unpredictable obstacles that plagued his farming business - from volatile weather to council spats.

There were also heartbreaking revelations as Clarkson shared the tragic news Gerald Cooper had been diagnosed with cancer as he explained why his 'Head of Security' didn't feature in the first part of the season.

And fans were also left heartbroken to discover Pepper the Cow, the animal Clarkson decided to keep as a pet at the end of season two even though she wasn't in calf, had to be culled.

The harrowing decision was a result of Clarkson being told by West Oxfordshire Council that his restaurant had to close after just six weeks - meaning he couldn't afford to keep the cattle at Diddly Squat.

"With the restaurant shut down, we could no longer afford to keep all the cows," he told viewers. "We could hang on to the calves to fatten them up but their mums... would have to go."

Alongside Ireland, Clarkson watched as his cows were taken away before he turned to his land agent and said: "We bought 19. They had eight, so that's 27. Killed two, (that's) 25. We're keeping 12... So 13 are going.

"13 passports I have here," Ireland replied before Clarkson opened up: "I'm finding today really quite sad.

"For the last year, I've been opening the windows, opening the curtains in the morning and there'd be cows, and I loved that. Making cow noises and it just cheers my heart each morning seeing them. Are the calves going to be a bit upset tonight?"

Cooper then chipped in: "Yeah, you're not gonna sleep tonight. You won't sleep. They're gonna be calling all night long."

Clarkson turned his attention directly to Pepper, asking Ireland: "Can I just ask... Pepper's going obviously. What do you think will become of her?"

Ireland in no uncertain terms replied: "I wouldn't ask too many questions about Pepper. Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answers too."

As the segment drew to a close, Clarkson and Hogan tearfully watched on as the truck containing the cows sent to slaughter drove away.

After many fans binged the episode of Friday morning, it didn't take long for several to admit they were left "in tears" by the emotional goodbye to Pepper.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan penned: "Already crying 8 minutes into season 3 of Clarkson's Farm, wtf @JeremyClarkson. I love this series so much. #clarksonsfarm."

"@JeremyClarkson this has to be the worse series for crying #ClarksonsFarm," another weighed in before a third simply put: "PEPPER!!! #ClarksonsFarm."

A fourth pleaded: "OF ALL THE COWS @JeremyClarkson NOT PEPPER!!!! NOT PEPPER!!!!!! #clarksonsfarm."

"10 mins in and I'm in tears! #ClarksonsFarm," added a fifth before a sixth fumed: "Watching #ClarksonsFarm and 5 mins in Pepper is gone!

"Seeing Lisa and Jeremy gutted at moves they were having to make is awful. All because of a petulant council and their ridiculous battle with Jeremy." (sic)
