The JLS star had quite the journey throughout his time on the BBC dance competition

Strictly Come Dancing star JB Gill’s wife has finally given her verdict on her husband missing out on lifting the Glitterball Trophy.

Last weekend, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell were crowned Strictly 2024 champions, with the comedian making history and being the first-ever blind contestant to win.

Whilst all four finalists were hopeful of being able to lift the Glitterball, they were equally as thrilled for McCausland and Buswell for their incredible journey.

After letting the weekend's events settle in, Gill issued a statement on his Instagram account to express his gratitude for everyone who voted for him and Lauren Oakley.

Alongside three images from their three performances at the end, he penned: “WOW. What a ride Strictly Come Dancing 2024 has been!

“Last night was a one-in-a-million experience. We laughed, we cried, we danced and enjoyed every single second while it lasted!”

He went on to express his delight for how well their three dances went, before adding: “I am so so grateful to EVERYONE at home for their love and support.

“The whole Strictly army, the choreographers, @laurenmayoakley and @amy_dowden and of course my family - you have truly made my time in the show incredible, and I will treasure it forever! THANK YOU!”

Throughout his time on the series, his wife was consistently supportive and even showed up to his training sessions on multiple occasions.

Many took issue with how involved she was in his training, but that didn’t stop her from continuing to go and posting TikTok’s with Gill’s former partner Amy Dowden and new partner Oakley.

The former dancer has kept her silence since her husband lost the competition but finally released a statement on Wednesday addressing the ordeal - four days after the final.

Posting an image alongside Gill and Oakley, she wrote: “It’s taken me a few days to process the last 13 weeks!

“Firstly, thank you to every single person that voted for @jbgill and @laurenmayoakley in the @bbcstrictly final! The support has been amazing and truly overwhelming.

“Honestly, I was blown away watching them both and couldn’t be more proud of how much you grew on the show @jbgill .

“You completed it and you did yourself SO proud! I love you #thegills #strictlyfinal #completedit.” (sic)

Whilst his time on the show may have come to an end, the Beat Again singer will be joined once again by Oakley and Dowden on the Strictly Tour 2025.

In an unusual arrangement, Gill will share his performances between two professional partners throughout the tour.

The JLS member will dance with both Dowden and Oakley, who had previously stepped in when Dowden withdrew from the main series.

The unique partnership structure adds an exciting dimension to the arena tour, which will span 30 shows across the country.
