Jay Slater: Vicky Entwistle sparks concern amid missing teen family updates with cryptic post: 'I hope not!'
X/Handout
The soap star has been using her platform to join the appeal for the missing teen
Vicky Entwistle has left her social media following concerned about future updates after sharing a new post with her 36.7k followers.
The former Coronation Street star has garnered plenty of attention on the web of late after revealing her familial ties to missing teen, Jay Slater.
The 19-year-old went missing in Tenerife last week after attending a music festival and as the search enters its ninth day, his whereabouts are unknown.
Last week, Entwistle revealed Slater was the grandson of her godmother as she appealed to fans to pray for his safety.
And a few days ago, Entwistle admitted she was "confident" in the search for the missing teen after her brother in Barcelona provided an update from the ground in Spain.
Now, however, it seems Entwistle will no longer be providing updates from those close to her after she alluded to ditching social media on Monday.
Addressing the newfound attention on her page and those who've followed her for a while, Entwistle penned: "Thank you to all that followed.
"You made me chuckle often! I wish you well in this toxic crazy world. Good night Vic x."
Before long, concerned fans rushed to the comments to plead with Entwistle to provide more clarity and not go silent on the platform.
"Hope you're not leaving as it sounds like you are, will miss your tweets if you do," one fan penned.
Thank you to all that followed. You made me chuckle often! I wish you well in this toxic crazy world. Good night Vic x

A second echoed: "Definitely sounds like you're leaving, I hope not. The madness needs to be balanced out and you do that incredibly well. I hope, as I'm sure all your followers will, you stay. Hope you're well."
Elsewhere, a third added: "That sound as if you are leaving Vicky. I hope not, I look forward to your tweets. It is a toxic world but put two fingers up to it and never stop being wonderful you. X."
And a fourth put the question straight to the actress: "Are you leaving twitter/X vicky?" (sic)
Entwistle's cryptic update comes as police have revealed they've found another missing Briton in their search for Slater.
With focus centred on the Rural de Teno Park - an area where Slater is believed to have disappeared - police encountered a 51-year-old Scottish hiker.
The unnamed man was also lost, with police confirming in a social media post: "Locals observed how said hiker entered very early into an area of difficult access not suitable for travel and after several hours passed without him returning to the starting point, they alerted the agents who were at that time in the area searching for missing young man, Jay Slater.
"Tired and disoriented, he was located by the agents and the rescue team who helped him get out of the ravine."
Meanwhile, new CCTV images believed to show Slater in the hours before his disappearance have been released.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
However, they've only added to the mystery of his disappearance as Global Reporter Nick Pisa told GB News the case "doesn't add up".
He told the People's Channel: "Initially, we all thought perhaps he had maybe got lost up the mountain, but the fact that no one has seen him, there's been no trace of him on that mountain, and the police and the mountain rescue have gone through that ravine with a fine tooth comb.
"You have to begin to ask yourself, as the family are beginning to as well, has someone possibly taken him, because it all does sound very weird.
"He went to this Airbnb where these two British guys were, and he left that house and asked the lady next door who runs the bar how to get back to his hotel.
"That woman told me that although they couldn't understand themselves in language, she put her fingers up and showed 10, which he seemed to understand.
"Yet he then decides to walk north up the mountain, because the same woman sees him a few minutes later going up the road. Which obviously begs the question, why has he done that? It doesn't add up."
