Janette Manrara breaks silence amid Wynne Evans BBC Strictly scandal after falling subject to singer's lewd joke
BBC
Strictly Come Dancing host Janette Manrara has broken her social media silence following recent controversy on the show's live tour.
The professional dancer turned presenter, 40, shared a series of photos and clips dedicated to her mother, husband, and daughter Lyra on social media.
The post marks Manrara's first public statement since Welsh opera singer Wynne Evans left the tour after making inappropriate comments during a press launch.
Manrara's message focused entirely on family matters, praising her mother's crucial support with childcare during the nationwide tour.
In her post, Manrara wrote: "This is a special post for my mother @stepby2designs who has really helped us out these past 2 weeks.
"It really does take a village and as a working parent, having her to be there for Lyra meant the world. I could not be doing shows and entertaining audiences if it was not for her coming and making sure Lyra was well and looked after.

"Its extra special as they do not get to spend time together and were really able to bond these past 2 weeks, with the surprise visit from her uncle (my brother @fizzymanrara) too!
"My heart was full. Mom, I love you, I appreciate you, and I cannot wait to see you again soon." (sic)
Manara was soon on the receiving end of supportive messages from her fellow Strictly alum, with pro dancers Jowita Przystal and Nancy Xu both replying with a series of love her emojis.
Former contestant Helen Skelton also showed her support by sharing a series of prayer hand emojis.
Meanwhile, fellow pros Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Lauren Oakley, Vito Coppola and her husband Aljaz Skorjanec 'liked' the post.
The departure of Evans, 53, came after he was recorded making lewd remarks towards Manrara during a tour photo opportunity.
The Go Compare star initially received a warning after making inappropriate sexual comments, including a demeaning reference when Manrara approached the group.
The incident occurred as the Strictly stars gathered for photographs, with Evans singing his trademark "Go Compare" before making further inappropriate remarks, including the term "spit roast".
Following the backlash, Evans announced his departure from both the tour and his radio show after apologising for his actions.
Following the controversy, Evans' former dance partner Katya Jones shared a supportive message following his departure from the tour.
