Janet Street-Porter has been branded as "disrespectful" for sharing a tweet about the sitcom Friends just days after leading star Matthew Perry's death.
The actor died aged 54 at his LA home on Saturday after a reported "accidental drowning" and tributes from the show's core cast and other co-stars have flooded in ever since.
However, on Tuesday morning, just days after news of Perry's death broke, Street-Porter took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a tweet aimed at the show which made him a household name.
The Loose Women panelist penned on the social media site: "Am I the only person who has managed to live a fulfilling life without watching Friends?"
Before long, a number of outraged X users slammed the timing of Street-Porter's tweet as news of Perry's death continues to dominate the news cycle.
One X user fumed in response: "No but you’re the only one who feels the need to tell everyone... Maybe let people enjoy what they want to enjoy and remember a wonderful actor."

A second similarly hit out: "I haven’t either but I am showing respect to the cast and viewers by not posting anything irrelevant or disrespectful to them. Remember the ‘Be Kind’ campaign?????"
Elsewhere, a third replied: "Am I the only person who has managed to live a fulfilling life since I stopped watching Loose Women?
"Seriously, what was the point of this tweet & why did you deem it necessary to post when a lovely person has died way too soon??"
"I am very surprised at your insensitivity," a fourth posted in response and a fifth was similarly disappointed as they weighed in: "No you're not but why voice it on here when an actor from the show has just died? Stupid ain't even the word for this f*****y."

However, others were quick to reply to Street-Porter's tweet in agreement, including one follower who applauded Street-Porter's reaction to Perry's death on ITV's Loose Women on Monday.
"I’m sure you are not. I love Friends and showed Matthew's skill and comic timing as an actor," one person shared. "Thank you for doing as he requested yesterday on @loosewomen and highlighting the work he wanted to be known for, supporting other addicts." (sic)
Street-Porter isn't the only famous figure to have been slammed for their public response in the wake of Perry's death.
Former Saturday Night Live writer and US comedian Kevin Brennan was labelled "disgusting" for appearing to mock Perry's death in a series of tweets just hours after the news broke.

PAAfter Brennan shared a tweet which laughed at the reports Perry drowned in a hot-tub, Brennan replied to a disgruntled user by stating: "I didn’t mock it.
"I just thought it was funny. But I do love it when junkies die," he penned.
The comedian appeared to revel in the fury he'd sparked as he asked his followers if he was "trending yet" after sharing the tasteless posts.
