After the success of the recent Netflix series One Day, one actor has climbed up the betting market to be unveiled as the next James Bond according to bookmakers.
Leo Woodall, who plays Dexter Mayhew, has been given reasonable odds from bookmakers William Hill to become the next 007 star.
Despite being a new addition to the market, he joined names such as Kingsley Ben-Adir, Idris Elba and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Our search for the next James Bond could have taken yet another twist in the form of ‘One Day’ star Leo Woodall, who certainly fits the bill for the iconic role.
“Forget the next Brad Pitt, we have ourselves the next Daniel Craig! The 27-year-old is a new addition to the market at 16/1 with us to assume the role left by Craig.
“Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been our favourite for the majority of 2023 and still leads the betting at 6/4, but you feel there will be more movement in the coming months.”

However, it seems instantcasino.com has other ideas when it comes to who will take the role as it strongly backs the Saltburn stars.
“After his remarkable performance in the highly controversial film Saltburn. Irishman Barry Keoghan is a shock new entry in the market to replace Daniel Craig as the next 007. Also entering the race is Keoghan’s co-star Jacob Elordi."
Jacob Elordi (20/1) and Barry Keoghan (7/1) recently starred alongside one another in Emerald Fennell’s second film Saltburn – which left many viewers questions whether they enjoyed the film after viewing.
The film followed Oliver Quick (played by Keoghan) as he navigated his way into Felix Catton’s (Elordi) family as an unsuspecting friend.

Throughout the film, many questionable scenes left viewers tunned and unable to comprehend what they had seen – but still became one of the most talked about films of 2023.
Other stars which are in the running are Damson Idris (10/3), Aaron Taylor Johnson (7/2), Rege-Jean Page (9/2) and James Norton (6/1).
Down the other end of the list are names such as Jamie Dornan (40/1), Tom Hiddleston (40/1), Ncuti Gatwa (50/1), and Kit Harrington (50/1) – looking like they have missed out on the chance this time.
For a while, many fans theorised that Christopher Nolan would be directing the new film, but he recently dampened the rumours.

“No. Sadly no truth to those rumours," he said during an interview with the AP. "But I’m very thrilled the (SAG-AFTRA) strike is over and we can all get back to work."
News that he won’t be on board for plans of Bond 26 left several fans deflated and continuing their theories for the role.
