The soap star's fiancee, Hanni Treweek, has encouraged fans to show their support

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd's fiancée Hanni Treweek has spoken out after learning he faces the first Celebrity Big Brother eviction.

The actor is up for evictions after receiving a staggering eight nominations from his fellow housemates.

The 37-year-old actor, who has played David Platt for 25 years, will go head-to-head with Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke, 72, and former Conservative politician Michael Fabricant, 74, in the public vote.

Shepherd received nominations from Angellica Bell, Chesney Hawkes, Danny Beard, Donna Preston, Ella Rae Wise, JoJo Siwa, Patsy Palmer and Trisha Goddard.

When asked how he felt about being nominated, Shepherd appeared to take it in his stride, telling Big Brother: "I'm disappointed...no I'm not!" before laughing it off.

Rourke had already been facing eviction after receiving a Killer Nomination from Siwa earlier in the week.

The reasons behind Shepherd's nominations left many viewers baffled, with housemates citing surprisingly trivial complaints.

Preston nominated him for wearing "too much aftershave," claiming: "Jack uses three different sprays a day and it's like a cocktail."

In perhaps the most bizarre justification, Palmer said he reminded her of The Joker. "I sleep next to Jack and he looked today like The Joker. I have nightmares about The Joker," she explained.

Hawkes described Shepherd as "stand-offish", while Bell called him "the observer" for not getting involved.

Beard claimed Shepherd "enjoys messing with your mind", whilst Goddard compared him to a "snake".

Siwa suggested Shepherd was selfish, stating: "What I've observed from Jack in this house is Jack does Jack. If you're looking for your water bottle, he's not going to help you find it."

Viewers were left confused by the barrage of nominations against Jack, particularly as he's had minimal screen time on the show.

Many took to social media questioning what they might be missing, with one writing: "JACK HAS HAD ABSOLUTELY ZERO SCREEN TIME BUT HE'S TRAUMATISED EVERYONE??"

Another puzzled fan asked: "What the hell did Jack do to everyone?"

"I didn't even realise Jack was still on the show, what are we not seeing, is he really that bad?" questioned a third viewer.

Treweek has addressed the nominations both via her own and Shepherd's Instagram pages, the latter of which she's been granted access to while he's in the house.

Shortly after the nominations, Treweek hit back at the results as she penned on Shepherd's Instagram page: "It’s been one wild ride this week Jack is up for eviction & WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!"

Taking aim at his fellow housemates, she typed: "We might be biased but we defo don’t agree on some of the comments for nominations... TO SAVE JACK download the @bbuk app and use ALL your votes to save him. He’s only getting started!!! WE LOVE YOU JACK!!!!"

Treweek went one step further on Friday when she shared: "Jack has never done ANYTHING like this before; he’s only warming up so let’s give him a chance by voting for him to stay! download the @bbuk app and use your five votes to see more of our Jack!!"

Via her own Instagram page, Treweek took to the comments of the post to simply write: "WE LOVE YOU!!!" (sic)

While Treweek may not have seen it coming, Shepherd had previously predicted his fate, saying before entering the house: "I almost guarantee I'll be up for eviction in the first week."

Shepherd's Coronation Street co-stars have also rallied around him, urging viewers to save him from eviction.

Julia Goulding, who plays his on-screen wife Shona Platt, took to Instagram declaring: "I'm voting to keep Jack in! He's mint!"

Samia Longchambon, whose character Maria Connor has worked alongside Shepherd's David Platt for years, also showed her support.

"Didn't think I'd be posting this just yet but drop a vote for our Jack to stay in the @bbuk house a bit longer please guys," she wrote, adding: "We definitely haven't seen the best of him yet!!"

Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant and Corrie star Colson Smith shared a screenshot showing he had voted for Jack to remain.

The support extended beyond Coronation Street, with Emmerdale actor Danny Miller also pleading with followers to keep Jack in the house.
