The latest episode saw a divided response from viewers

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire viewers were left divided over Sunday evening's episode, with some complaining there was "no point watching" due to the contestant's habit of chatting.

Jeremy Clarkson returned to screens at the weekend for this week's show, with bus driver Jack Soley kicking off as the first player to take the iconic seat.

Not long into Jack's round, fans began to criticise him for "waffling" to Clarkson.

Taking to X, one penned: "Why do people faff on answering the £100-£1000 questions? Just answer the question and get on with it!"

Another commented: "Many watch for the human interest, and producers tell em to waffle."

Mocking Jack's thinking-aloud process, another complained: "'I was thinking Taylor Swift when the question came up, I don’t know why…' BECAUSE THAT’S THE B***** ANSWER!"

"#WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire no point watching the first 10 minutes of the episode," someone else shared.

However, most viewers seemed to warm to Jack, especially as he proved himself to be a successful contestant.

"Brilliant player. Loved how he took chances," one applauded.

Another wrote: "Fantastic. What a contestant. Properly well deserved!"

"So pleased for him played it perfectly," another added. (sic)

Jack decided to lock in his second safety net at £64,000, and had two lifelines left.

In the next question, he was asked: "Which of these cities was once the capital of the Inca empire? A, Cartagena, B, Cuzco, C, Salvador or D, Guatemala City."

The bus driver ended up opting for Cuzco, the correct answer, securing him the £64,000.

However, he went on to answer further questions correctly and ended up leaving with a staggering £250,000.

The flood of response follows last week's show, which also had viewers talking.

During the instalment, eagle-eyed viewers were left baffled after spotting a glaring error during the programme.

The mistake occurred during a question about Henry VIII's wives, which quickly caught the attention of fans watching at home.

The contestant was presented with a question about Henry VIII's wives that read: "Which of King Henry VIII's wives did he marry last, making her the one who 'survived,' according to the well-known rhyme?"

The options included Catherine Parr, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine of Aragon.

However, viewers quickly noticed that all three Catherines were spelled with a K rather than the traditional C spelling when the options appeared on-screen.

The spelling inconsistency stood out to many fans who claimed that the spelling used on the ITV quiz show wasn't factual.
