Rapper Example and EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy were unmasked last week

An 80’s movie icon suspected to behind ITV The Masked Singer’s Dressed Crab has issued a cheeky hint amid intense speculation ahead of the grand finale.

The beloved show will crown its 2025 champion this weekend as three mystery celebrities battle it out.

Dressed Crab, Pufferfish and Wolf remain in the competition after last week's double elimination saw rapper Example and EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy unmasked.

Former winner Danny Jones will join regular judges Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross on the panel for the final showdown.

The trio of remaining contestants will perform one last time before their true identities are revealed to the nation.

Dressed Crab has emerged as a standout performer throughout the series, delivering powerful renditions of California Dreamin' by The Mamas & the Papas and Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz.

The contestant has dropped numerous fashion-related clues and demonstrated an ability to put on an American accent, suggesting they may be a style icon from across the Atlantic.

The panel's guesses for Dressed Crab's identity include singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka, Hollywood star Jamie Foxx, fashion trailblazer Billy Porter, Grammy winner Gregory Porter and Seal.

However, some fans are convinced star of the iconic 80's classic The Karate Kid and current sequel TV series Cobra Kai Ralph Macchio will be unmasked as Dressed Crab.

Amid the speculation, the 63-year-old American star has issued a sly hint he may be involved by telling fans: "I can carry a tune".

Speaking to Good Morning Britain, Macchio revealed "The Masked Singer has crossed my desk the last couple of years."

The actor had previously appeared on the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing with the Stars, in 2011 where he finished fourth.

"With all that stuff - even with Dancing With The Stars - its timing," he explained.

Appearing the stoke further speculation, he concluded with: "Never say never right?"

Elsewhere, Pufferfish has wowed audiences with their performances of Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and several Chappel Roan covers.

The judges have put forward several theories about Pufferfish's identity, including Hayden Panetierre, Stacey Solomon, Kate Moss, Gillian Anderson and Glee star Lea Michele - the latter guess sparked by a reference to Journey's Don't Stop Believin'.

Wolf has impressed with a diverse song selection, including Billy Idol's Rebel Yell, Barry Manilow's Copacabana and Let's Dance.

The mysterious contestant has left cryptic clues throughout the series, with references to multi-coloured skittles and nods to British icons Sir Elton John and Queen.

They've hinted at overcoming past challenges, saying: "It's all about new foundations. If you wanna keep a roof over your head, I should know. Not that I'm bitter about the business."

Scottish singer Marti Pellow is currently the panel's leading theory, though other guesses include Phil Spencer, David Tennant, Richard E. Grant and Jim Kerr.
