Romance rumours surrounding Miles Nazaire and Vanessa Bauer have spread recently after viewers claimed the pair were demonstrating “flirty behaviour” on the ITV skating competition Dancing on Ice.
The pair have now addressed the speculation after the spotlight was shone upon their relationship by stand-in host Ranvir Singh on ITV’s Lorraine.
Musicals week saw another steamy performance from the skating pairing to Slade's Cum on Feel the Noize from Rock of Ages with Nazaire raising temperatures when he transformed into a shirtless take on glam rocker Stacee Jaxx.
Their unsurprisingly successful performance earned them a total score of 35.5, the night’s joint highest score level with Amber Davies and Simon Proulx-Sénécal, and ended with the pair sharing a warm embrace as they spoke to Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern.
Away from the ice, Nazaire has had a history of rocky romances: the massive breakup with his girlfriend Maeva D’Ascanio who went on to date his best friend James Taylor was documented during season nine of Made in Chelsea.
He has since searched for love on the series Ex on the Beach and Celebs Go Dating but his lack of success has led fans to speculate that he may be continuing to look for not just a skating partner but also a romantic partner on the ice.

Similarly, Bauer also has experience with public romances, although is believed to be single after saying about her last romance on Instagram: “Every failed relationship is another step closer to the perfect man for you.”
Now, much to viewers’ surprise, Nazaire and Bauer have confirmed their relationship is strictly platonic although they feel they have found an extremely strong connection with each other and are great friends on and off the ice.
Nazaire told Singh on Monday about the rumours: "We get it. Of course, there's going to be speculation of romance. It's fun and it's nice but also, it's like we really want to show how much work we're putting into this.
“We don't want it to be taken away like, ‘Awww, it's a new couple or something'. We're together every day, hours and hours a day, and we have such amazing friendship, genuinely.”
Nazaire also addressed the revelation in a separate interview, stating to the Mirror “No romance at all. I know fans will be disappointed because we do look good together.
“Funnily enough, we didn’t click when we met,” he continued. “I think she didn’t get what kind of person I was. But then, in the first week, she got to see this completely different side, and she was like, ‘Wow, you’re not what I expected. You’re actually just very kind and goofy, and you work really hard’.
“And I think I showed that I connected with her on another level. We have deep chats and it’s really nice to have that, not just a dancing partner but a friend.”
Clearly, the partnership is bringing success to the ice with odds of 11/4 for them winning placing them as one of the favourites for the competition behind their competitive rivals Amber Davies with odds 9/4.
Despite the duo continuing to impress on the ice, the pair have come under fire from some fans after it was claimed the pairing showed clear “favouritism” from ITV show bosses.

Many viewers of the show feel that the pairing was unfair and pointed out a history of Bauer being paired with attractive and talented celebrities.
The pair sailed through the latest round of the competition at the expense of Roxy Shahidi and Lou Sanders in a shock double elimination.
However, the double axe wasn’t the only major talking point from this past weekend as Ryan Thomas caught the eye for all the wrong reasons.
The former Coronation Street star fell not once, but twice during his routine but viewers made sure he survived to skate again next week.
