Thomson woke to the smell of burning food in the jungle camp
Nigel Farage and Sam Thompson have pointed the finger at one another over who was to blame for burning the camp’s food.
A feud erupted between the two stars when both accused the other of burning the rice. “One’s blaming the other, Sam’s blaming Nigel, Nigel’s blaming Sam,” a campmate said of the situation.
Farage, who had been made sous chef by camp leader Danielle Harold, left the rice boiling and was under the impression that Thompson would watch over it.
He told the reality TV star: “I’ve put the rice on and it’s reducing slowly. There’s enough water in there for the moment.”
Thompson decided he had enough time for a lie-down, saying: “I can sort of chill.”
The GB News presenter said: “That should be fine for a few minutes.”
In the Bush Telegraph, Farage explained: “Everybody was asleep. I thought, ‘Well look, we’ve got to get the rice on.’ So I put the rice on, the water’s reducing in the rice and soon it’s going to be done.”
However, Thompson’s lie down proved to be far too cosy, as the star was soon fast asleep.
He later awoke to the unmistakable smell of burning rice. Alarmed, he exclaimed: “Why does this smell like it’s burning?”
After checking the pot, Thompson was dismayed to discover the rice was in fact burnt.

Farage was accused of leaving the rice unattended

Confused over whether he was supposed to be monitoring the pot, he told the Bush Telegraph: “I don’t know if I’ve burnt the rice. I don’t know who has burnt the rice.”
Farage pointed out that he had told Thompson that the rice was reducing, and that there was only enough water there “for the moment”.
The former politician was dismayed at the spoiled food, saying: “Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. He’s ruined the rice.”
However, Thompson blamed Farage for the mishap, saying: “I thought you had it,” before the GB News presenter repeated the fact that he told the Made in Chelsea star that the rice was reducing.
Danielle Harold chastised both the bickering chefs for their failures in the kitchen. She said: “Sam and Nigel not doing so great in the kitchen. They have both burnt that rice.”
Just to check the food was indeed burnt, Thompson thought a taste test was in order.
However, it was not as bad as he expected, exclaiming: “It’ll do. It tastes like burnt popcorn.” Thompson, positive as ever, later chirped: “I think it’s going to be lovely.”
Sam Thompson eventually took responsibility for the incident

Tony Bellew chastised Thompson for napping whilst the rice was cooking: “You had one job Sam. You’re head chef. You fell asleep on the job.”
Farage rushed to Thompson’s defence, saying: “To be fair, he’s taken full responsibility.”
Marvin Humes commented on the misunderstanding between the two celebs. Talking in the Bush Telegraph, he said: “One’s blaming the other, Sam’s blaming Nigel, Nigel’s blaming Sam.”
Thompson even admitted that communication between the pair was “lacking”.
However, he was fairly adamant that he did not hear Farage ask him to watch over it.
He said: “Nige, threw me right under the bus. I’m almost certain I didn’t hear him say, ‘Can you watch over it?’”
However, despite Farage and Thompson both passing the buck for the spoiled food, Thompson ultimately admitted defeat. He concluded: “As head chef, I’m taking responsibility.”
