Homes Under the Hammer's Martin Roberts risks BBC fury by 'leaking' Strictly Come Dancing sign-up

Strictly Come Dancing bosses could be set to scold television presenter and property expert Martin Roberts after the 60-year-old strongly hinted he could be taking part in this year's show.
The Homes Under the Hammer star explained he was gearing up for a "TV show later in the year" he needed to "get fit" for.
BBC producers of the competition remain extremely tight-lipped about potential celebrity contestants in an effort to prevent leaks, so it's possible Roberts could receive a telling-off for the tease.
Speaking at the recent TRIC awards, Martin told The Sun: "I should worry about what I eat because I had a health scare. I need to look after myself better."
He couldn't help but add: "And certainly if I get this TV show later in the year, I'll have to get super fit."
The dance show airs from September to December each year, and it definitely helps to be fit and healthy, with a strict training regime and heart-pumping routines performed live each week.

A source also told the Daily Star: "Martin is just waiting to sign his contract. It'll be a dream come true for him - and a delight for viewers."
The BBC declined to comment when approached by GB News, who also reached out to Roberts' representatives over the reports.
The rumours follow a frightening health scare Roberts faced in 2022 after he underwent emergency heart surgery.
He had been told he had only "a few hours to live" after suffering from pericardial effusion - a build-up of fluid in the structure around the heart.

He was rushed into surgery which saved his life, but recently admitted he was struggling with the mental impact of the traumatic event.
"I was told to slow down, but I did the opposite," he admitted. Speaking to The Mirror, he continued: "I can't understate the mental after-effects of what happened to me.
"The physical stuff you get over, but it's the overriding thought it could have all ended.
"Everything you tried to do, and your family, you realise it could all be gone. I was told I needed to slow down and I've gone the other way. Hopefully I've got many years but you never know."

He continued: "That whole thing that happened to me makes you realise how thin a thread we dangle from. But you can't go through life living in that fear."
While the celebrity line-up for this year's Strictly won't be revealed for some time, the professionals have now been confirmed.
Some shock announcements came from the reveal, with the news that Giovanni Pernice had decided to exit the show confirmed.
The 33-year-old dancer has been at the centre of a huge controversy since last year when actress and dance partner for the series Amanda Abbington accused him of "bullying" and "abusive" behaviour, which he has strongly denied.
