Holly Willoughby has signalled she is “finally back to herself” after ex-colleague Phillip Schofield embroiled This Morning in a scandal.

Willoughby seems to have changed her attitude just weeks after Schofield quit ITV.

The 42-year-old was back on This Morning earlier today with Dermot O’Leary.

Willoughby appeared in high spirits and showed more energy than in previous weeks.

She returned to the This Morning sofa on June 5 after taking a break while Schofield’s “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague was exposed.

Schofield, 61, stepped down from ITV and would later confirm Willoughby ignored his apology text.

Following a period of unrest, Willoughby appears to be back to her full strength.

A number of viewers have taken to social media to comment on her spirits.

One viewer tweeted: “Holly finally seems back to herself. She's not stopped giggling with Dermot.”

Another wrote: “Awhh after all that has happened the past couple of weeks Holly seems happy again. I love her and Dermot together.”

A third said: “Holly laughing and joking again! Nature is healing. They need to make Dermot a permanent host too.”

A fourth added: “Anyone notice that Holly seems to be in such a better mood this week! It's so nice to see.”

O’Leary paid tribute to Willoughby in a post on Instagram, describing her as his “lovely mate”.

The 50-year-old is currently filling Schofield’s void as ITV’s top brass search for a replacement.

He is also among the bookies’ contenders to fill the vacancy.

In his Instagram post, O’Leary wrote: “Back on This Morning for another week with my lovely mate Holly.”
